Jacksonville Jaguars Schedule
Posted by Jimmy Boyd on
The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded the 2012 season with a dismal 2-14 record, which was tied with Kansas City for the worst mark in the NFL. The biggest problem for the Jaguars has been the poor play they have received at the quarterback position. Chad Henne showed more promise than Blaine Gabbert, but neither is a legit NFL starter.
Looking ahead to the 2013 season, the Jaguars have the 13th most difficult strength of schedule. While it won’t be hard to improve on their two-win mark from last year, I don’t expect a ton of improvement. Jacksonville will take on the AFC West, NFC West, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills on top of their six division games.
As you can see by the projected odds below, I only predict the Jaguars to be favored in one game all season. A lot of that has to do with the fact that the public will be extremely down on this team. It’s not out of the question that they start the year 2-0. I could easily see them winning at home against Kansas City and at Oakland.They also have a number of winnable home games against San Diego, Arizona, Buffalo and Tennessee, plus a potential road win at Cleveland.
Overall I think this team will be better than expected, but you have to think their ceiling is 6 wins. More than anything they will probably be a good team to back against the spread. Here’s a complete look at their schedule for 2013.
Update – Cantor Gaming has released their odds for every game of the regular season. We’ve included that line, as well as the line we projected a few weeks before these were released. We’ve also added a column to show the likelihood that the team will win the game based on the odds given from Cantor. For some reason Cantor did not offer lines for any team for Week 17 of the season, so we used our line for the Week 17 calculations.
At the very bottom of the schedule you’ll see the expected win totals posted by both Cantor Gaming and Atlantis Casino, how many wins the odds project, and a recommendation based on those expected wins.
|WEEK||OPPONENT||BOYD’S SPREAD||CANTOR SPREAD||WIN CHANCE|
|CANTOR WIN TOTAL: 5||EXPECTED WINS:||4.96|
|ATLANTIS WIN TOTAL: 5||RECOMMENDATION:||No Play|
