49ers vs Broncos Vegas Odds & Game Preview

Denver got back to .500 overall on the season last week after a double-digit 24-10 road victory over Cincinnati. The Broncos were dominant on both sides of the ball, out-gaining the Bengals by more than 50 total yards and winning the turnover battle 3-1. QB Case Keenum certainly didn’t have best game, passing for just 151 yards and a touchdown. RB Phillip Lindsay was electric, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. He will likely be heavily relied upon again here in Week 14, as star WR Emmanuel Sanders tore his Achilles in practice this week and is out for the rest of the year. All eyes will now be on rookie Courtland Sutton, who will see a big boost in targets over the last few weeks of the season. As a whole, Denver is currently averaging 23.0 points per game (17th overall) on 365.7 total yards of offense.

The Broncos have been solid defensively through their first twelve games, allowing opponents to score just 21.8 points per game (11th overall) on 382.9 yards of total offense. However, they have struggled a bit against the pass, giving up an average of 260.8 yards per game through the air (23rd overall).

San Francisco lost their third consecutive game last weekend, getting crushed 43-16 on the road against Seattle. The 49ers were badly outplayed on both sides of the ball, trailing 20-3 at the half before getting outscored by ten points in the final two quarters. QB Nick Mullens certainly did his part, throwing for over 400 yards and two touchdowns in a losing cause. WR Dante Pettis also had a monster game, racking up a season-high 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns on just five receptions. RB Jeff Wilson Jr. took over for a banged-up Matt Breida out of the backfield, catching eight passes for 73 yards and rushing for 61 yards on 15 carries. Overall, San Francisco is currently averaging just 21.3 points per game (22nd overall) on 363.3 yards per game of total offense.

The 49ers have been terrible on the other side of the ball so far this season, giving up an average of 28.0 points per game (29th overall) on 348.8 yards of total offense. They have really struggled against the pass, surrendering an average of 240.6 yards per game through the air.

Free NFL Betting Prediction: Broncos -6

I’m a little bit surprised that Denver is favored by less than a touchdown in this particular matchup. I know that the offense will certainly miss Emmanuel Sanders, but Phillip Lindsay has been electric on the ground over the past several weeks while Courtland Sutton has shown a ton of potential in his rookie season. They also have managed to beat the Bengals by two touchdowns on the road last weekend, which leads me to believe they are more than capable of beating a bad 49ers team by double-digits here in Week 14.

San Francisco is just 1-4 ATS over their last five home games. They are also only 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. Denver is a solid 6-1 ATS over their last seven games overall. They are also a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.

There is no doubt that the Broncos should cover this relatively small spread with ease on Sunday, as the 49ers haven’t looked good at all over the last few weeks. In fact, San Francisco has been outscored 70-25 over their past two games – a trend that has to be troubling for the entire coaching staff. I’m more than happy to lay the six points and roll with the road favorite in this matchup – give me Denver.
