Arizona vs USC Betting Line & Game Preview
The Wildcats won their fourth straight game last weekend, an impressive 58-37 home victory over the #15 Washington State Cougars. Arizona is now 6-2 on the season, including a solid 4-1 record against the Pac-12 South. The Wildcats were firing on all cylinders against the Cougars, racking up almost 600 total yards on the night. QB Khalil Tate continued to lead the way with an impressive 3 touchdown performance (2 passing, 1 rushing). Tate has been fantastic on the ground all season long, averaging 154.3 rushing yards per game. Overall, Arizona has been one of the top offensive teams in the country all season long – they are currently averaging 45.0 points per game (3rd overall nationwide) on 522.9 total yards (6th). The Wildcats haven’t been nearly as impressive defensively, as they are allowing opponents to score an average of 30.3 points per game on 447.9 total yards.
USC had an impressive rebound performance last weekend, defeating Arizona State 48-17 to improve to 7-2 on the year. The game wasn’t ever really all that close, as the Trojans had a three touchdown lead at halftime. RB Ronald Jones II had a huge statistical game, rushing for over 215 yards in just 18 carries while also adding two touchdowns. QB Sam Darnold has also been quite impressive, averaging 284.2 passing yards per game and passing for 20 touchdowns so far this season. Darnold and Jones II have led USC to a top 20 overall ranking in terms of total offense, as the Trojans are currently averaging 475.8 total yards per game (18th). USC is also averaging a solid 33.7 points per game. On the other side of the ball, the Trojans have limited opponents to an average of 25.8 points per game on 394.7 total yards per game.
Free NCAAF Betting Prediction: USC -7
I really wanted to take the Wildcats in this particular spot, as they looked extremely impressive last weekend against Washington State. However, Arizona has been a totally different team away from home this season – they are just 2-8 ATS over their past ten road games. Even in their last two road victories, (@Cal, @Colorado) the Wildcats won by a combined four points. USC, despite having a below average year, has still looked strong at home. I think they manage to find a way to win this important divisional game by at least a touchdown.

Again, USC hasn’t had a great year by any stretch of the imagination. The Trojans are just 1-6 ATS in their past seven games. However, I really liked how they looked last weekend against an underrated Arizona State team that managed to beat Washington several weeks ago. USC now gets to face a struggling Wildcats defense that is currently ranked 88th overall in points allowed per game and 97th overall against the pass. I’m expecting the Trojans to make a statement on Saturday night in a tough match-up at home. They still have a lot to play for and will want to ensure that they manage to hold onto 1st place in the Pac-12 South. Darnold and Co. should manage to pull away in the second half and win by 7+ points.
