Taking a look at the Week 11 college football odds, FSU opened as a 1.5-point road underdog earlier this week. The spread has increased by a full point after early betting, as the Seminoles are currently available at +2.5. The total for the game is sitting at 62 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Boston College vs FSU
Florida State has now lost three out of their last four games overall after falling 27-10 at home last weekend against Miami. The Seminoles trailed 17-3 at the half and never recovered, scoring just a single touchdown over the final two quarters en route to a double-digit defeat. QB Alex Hornibrook went 17/24 for 135 passing yards and a touchdown through the air but had a lot of trouble avoiding losses on the ground, as the Hurricanes dropped him behind the line of scrimmage for a total of 51 lost yards. RB Cam Akers also had trouble running the football, averaging only 3.0 yards per carry on a team-high 22 carries. Akers did find the end zone on one of his three catches for 23 yards, although no other member of the offense scored a touchdown all game. Overall, Florida State gained just over 200 total yards of offense against a rock-solid Hurricanes defense.
The Seminoles didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball against Miami either, giving up over 350 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. Florida State had a tough time trying to slow down the Hurricanes receiving duo of Jeff Thomas and Daquris Wiggins, as the pair combined for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
Boston College rebounded after a tough Week 9 road loss to Clemson at the end of October, crushing Syracuse 58-27 last weekend to get back above .500 on the season overall. The Eagles scored 34 points in the second quarter and cruised to victory from there, giving up just a single touchdown over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Dennis Grosel was fantastic, going 8/10 for 195 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air while also adding 25 rushing yards on the ground as well. AJ Dillon and David Bailey torched the Orange on the ground, racking up a combined 414 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Kobay White also got in on the scoring parade, finding the end zone on one of his two catches for a team-high 83 yards. As a whole, Boston College generated just under 700 total yards of offense and scored eight touchdowns against a shell-shocked Orange defense.
The Golden Eagles were fairly average defensively against Syracuse, surrendering just under 450 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. Boston College had no answer for Orange WR Trishton Jackson, as he exploded for 148 yards and two touchdowns on a game-high eight receptions.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Boston College -2.5
I think that the Eagles offer pretty decent value against the spread in this Week 11 ACC Atlantic battle, as Boston College has definitely been the more impressive team so far this season. They are also at home on Saturday afternoon, which doesn’t bode well for a Seminoles squad that is only 0-2-1 against the spread through their first three road games of the year. The Eagles offense has also really been firing on all cylinders as of late, scoring at least 45 points in two out of their last three games. While FSU might have the slight edge on the other side of the ball, their offense has been held to 20 points or less in two out of their last three outings.

Boston College has really performed well against the spread as of late, covering the number in five out of their last six games overall. The Eagles also crushed Florida State in their last meeting at Alumni Stadium, winning 35-3 despite coming into the game as a 5.5 point underdog. On the other side, the Seminoles are just 3-5-1 against the spread so far this season. I’m going to lay the 2.5 points and roll with the slight home favorite in what is shaping up to be a highly entertaining ACC Atlantic matchup – give me Boston College to cover!
