Browns vs Seahawks Game Odds & Betting Preview

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks improved to 4-1 on the season overall last Thursday after a thrilling 30-29 victory at home against the Los Angeles Rams. Seattle trailed 26-21 heading into the fourth quarter before storming back over the final 15 minutes en route to a critical win over an NFC West rival. QB Russell Wilson had an outstanding game, going 17/23 for 268 yards and four touchdowns through the air while RB Chris Carson chipped in with 27 carries for 118 rushing yards. TE Will Dissly led the way for the receiving corps, making four catches for 81 yards. Overall, the Seahawks gained well over 400 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns.

Seattle didn’t have the best outing defensively in Week 5, giving up well over 450 total yards and allowing three touchdowns to the Rams offense. The Seahawks really had a tough time trying to slow down Gerald Everett and Cooper Kupp, as the duo combined for 154 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns dropped back below .500 on the season their last time out, falling 31-3 on the road in San Francisco. Cleveland fell behind 21-3 in the first half and never recovered, getting completely shut out by the 49ers over the final two quarters of the game. QB Baker Mayfield didn’t play well, going just 8/22 for 100 passing yards and getting picked off twice. RB Nick Chubb led the way on the ground, rushing for 87 yards on a team-high 16 carries. Jarvis Landry was the only Browns receiver who was able to consistently get open downfield, making four catches for 75 yards. As a whole, the offense generated just over 200 total yards and failed to score a single touchdown.

Cleveland didn’t have a great showing on the other side of the ball against the 49ers either, giving up 31 points and well over 450 total yards of offense. The Browns were especially bad defending against the run, as San Francisco RB Matt Breida torched them on the ground for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Seahawks -1

I’m happy to lay the single point and roll with the Seahawks in this particular matchup on Sunday, as Seattle has definitely been the more consistent team through the first five weeks of the season. Not only have they only lost one game, they really seem to have turned the corner over their last couple of outings with impressive divisional victories over both Los Angeles and Arizona. Cleveland, on the other hand, has been incredibly inconsistent beating the Jets and Baltimore but getting blown out by San Francisco and Tennessee. They also lost by a touchdown to the same Rams team that Seattle just beat, which certainly doesn’t bode well for them here in Week 7.

The Browns have also really struggled against the spread as of late, going just 2-5 ATS over their last seven home games. They are also only 1-8 outright in their last nine meetings with NFC West opponents. Seattle has been fantastic on the road in recent history, going 6-1 against the spread in their last nine games away from CenturyLink field. The Seahawks are also a perfect 5-0 straight up over their last five games against a team from the NFC North. I’ll take the slight road favorite to cover the spread on Sunday afternoon – give me Seattle!
