The Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Buffalo this weekend to take on the Bills. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST on Sunday, October 22 at New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York. The game will be televised on FOX.
Oddsmakers currently have the Bills listed as 3 point home favorites. Early betting has moved the line only slighty, as Buffalo opened at -3.5. Some of this movement may have been due to Bucs QB Jameis Winston recently being confirmed as the starter on Sunday. The over/under for the game is 45 points. Bucs vs Bills Vegas Game Odds & Betting Predictions
Tampa Bay lost a close game last week against Arizona after a valiant second half comeback led by backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick fell just short. The Bucs trailed by a score of 31-0 at the beginning of the third quarter after having already lost Jameis Winston to an apparent shoulder injury. Fitzpatrick was fantastic in relief, throwing for 290 yards and three touchdowns in barely three quarters of play. Tampa Bay announced late Friday afternoon that Winston would return against the Bills this weekend in spite of a sprained AC joint. On the other side of the ball, the Bucs have looked somewhat below average for most of the year. They have been allowing opponents an average of 400+ total yards per game while also giving up 24.2 points per game.
The Bills had an extremely impressive 3-1 start to the season before losing a close game to Cincinnati last weekend on the road. Buffalo has been one of the best teams in the league defensively, allowing an average of just 14.8 points per game. Their run defense has also been exceptional, as they have given up an average of less than 90 rushing yards per game. On offense, Tyrod Taylor has continued to improve as a quarterback while already throwing for almost 1,000 yards. LeSean McCoy continues to be a threat both on the ground and in the passing game – he looks poised to have another big game this week against a weak Buccaneers defense.
Free NFL Betting Prediction: Bills -3
I think the Bills offer a ton of value in this particular spot, especially considering all the concern surrounding Jameis Winston and the severity of his shoulder injury. Even though the Bucs have already announced that he is starting on Sunday, there is still no guarantee that his shoulder holds up all game against this tough Buffalo defense. The Bills should also be well-rested after a bye week and should come out firing on all cylinders.

The Bucs are 0-5 ATS over their past 5 games on turf and 0-4 ATS over their past four games overall. Buffalo is an impressive 4-1 ATS over their past five and are almost always a tough match-up for opponents when playing at home. Tampa Bay just allowed Arizona to rush for 160+ yards last weekend and the match-up against LeSean McCoy and Co. on Sunday certainly doesn’t get any easier. Throw in the fact that Buffalo has already beaten legitimate opponents like Atlanta and Denver already this season and I see no reason to think that the Bills won’t cruise to victory at home this weekend.
