Buccaneers vs Cardinals Game Odds & Betting Preview

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals couldn’t find a way to get past San Francisco their last time out, falling 28-25 at home on Thursday Night Football to drop to 3-5-1 on the season overall. Arizona gave up 14 unanswered points in the second quarter and never fully recovered despite outscoring the 49ers 18-7 over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Kyler Murray went 17/24 for 241 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 34 rushing yards on the ground. Newly acquired RB Kenyan Drake fit in nicely, racking up 110 rushing yards and finding the end zone with David Johnson still sidelined with an injury. Andy Isabella led the way for the receiving corps, scoring an 88-yard touchdown on his only catch of the game. As a whole, the Cardinals gained just under 400 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns despite coming up just short on the scoreboard.

Arizona was below average defensively against the 49ers, giving up over 400 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. The Cardinals had no answer for San Francisco WR Emmanuel Sanders, as he hauled in seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in his second game after being traded by Denver.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers lost their fourth straight game last weekend, coming out on the wrong end of a 40-34 overtime thriller on the road in Seattle. Tampa Bay held a 24-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on down the stretch, getting outscored 13-10 over the final 15 minutes of the game and needing a last-second miss by K Jason Myers to even get into overtime. However, Russell Wilson connected with TE Jacob Hollister on a ten-yard touchdown strike in the first possession of the extra frame to lock up a Seahawks victory. QB Jameis Winston was fantastic, going 29/44 for 335 passing yards and two touchdowns. WR Mike Evans continued his recent streak of outstanding play, hauling in 12 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown. Overall, the Buccaneers generated well over 400 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns in the loss.

Tampa Bay had a brutal outing on the other side of the ball in Week 9, getting torched by the Seahawks for over 500 total yards of offense and five touchdowns. The Bucs couldn’t find a way to slow down QB Russell Wilson, as he threw for 378 passing yards and five touchdowns while also adding 21 yards on the ground.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: OVER 51.5

This is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining games on the entire schedule here in Week 10, as there should be plenty of offense to go around in a matchup that features a 51.5 point total. Neither defense has played very well over the first nine weeks of the season, especially Tampa Bay who has given up at least 30 points in five out of their last six games overall. While the Cardinals have been slightly better defensively, they have still surrendered an average of over 27.5 points per game over their last four outings. Things have been much better on the other side of the ball for both teams, as the Bucs have racked up 107 total points over their last four games overall while Arizona has scored at least 27 points over that same time span.

With the spread looking extremely efficient to me, I have no interest in rolling the dice with either side. However, the OVER on 51.5 total points scored is at least somewhat enticing, as the total has now gone OVER in six out of Tampa Bay’s last eight games overall. The OVER has also come through in each of the last five meetings the Bucs have had with an AFC opponent. Finally, Tampa Bay has really been fantastic against the run so far this season, which will likely result in Arizona being forced to take to the air. The combination of increased clock-stoppages and a quick strike, passing-focused offensive game plan is the perfect breeding ground for plenty of points to be scored on Sunday afternoon. I’m going to avoid picking against the spread entirely in favor of the OVER on 51.5 total points in what should be a fast-paced, entertaining matchup.
