Cardinals vs Rams Vegas Odds & Game Preview
Los Angeles has now lost two straight games after a disappointing 30-23 home loss against Philadelphia last weekend. The Rams gave up 17 unanswered points to the Eagles in the 3rd quarter after heading into the locker room at halftime tied 13-13. The defeat was definitely a wake up call for L.A., as they also struggled back in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. QB Jared Goff did play quite well in a losing cause last Sunday, going 35 of 53 for 339 yards. However, he also failed to find the end zone and threw a costly interception. RB Todd Gurley only rushed for 48 yards on 12 carries, although he did score two rushing touchdowns as well. Gurley’s status for Week 16 is still up in the air, as he is currently questionable due to an inflamed knee. Overall, Los Angeles is currently averaging 32.0 points per game (3rd overall) on 421.4 yards of total offense.
The Rams haven’t looked quite as impressive on the other side of the ball through their first fourteen games, giving up an average of 24.5 points per game (20th overall) on 363.1 total yards of offense. They have struggled the most against the run, as opponents are currently averaging 123.3 yards per game on the ground (21st overall).
Arizona has also lost two consecutive games after getting crushed 40-14 on the road by Atlanta in Week 15. The Cardinals were badly outplayed on both sides of the ball, allowing Matt Ryan and Julio Jones to combine for 82 yards and a touchdown while also giving up 145 yards and a touchdown to Tevin Coleman on just 11 carries. They also haven’t played well offensively as of late, as QB Josh Rosen was just 13/22 for 132 yards and no touchdowns. Rosen also got picked off twice in the loss, one of which was returned for a touchdown. RB David Johnson racked up over 100 total yards and also found the end zone, but his performances as of late have been hit or miss depending upon the opposition. As a whole, Arizona is currently averaging a league-worst 13.7 points per game on just 243.1 total yards of offense.
The Cardinals have also been pretty bad defensively for most of the regular season, as they are currently giving up 26.2 points per game (25th overall) on 356.4 total yards of offense. They have been especially bad against the run, as opponents are currently averaging an alarming 144.9 yards per game on the ground (30th overall).
Free NFL Betting Prediction: Los Angeles -14
Even if Todd Gurley is ultimately held on Sunday to get some extra time to rest and recover for a potentially long playoff run, I still like the Rams to cover the spread in this particular spot. Arizona has not played well all season long, especially on defense where they have consistently been one of the NFL’s worst teams. Los Angeles will also be hungry to get some momentum going before the end of the regular season, as they have now lost two games in a row for the first time all season. Goff and Co. will certainly be able to move the ball up and down the field with relative ease against Arizona, so I’m expecting Robert Woods and the rest of the L.A. receivers to have big games through the air.

The Cardinals are only 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. They are also a brutal 1-4 ATS over their last five meetings with Los Angeles. The Rams are a rock-solid 4-2 ATS in their last six visits to State Farm Stadium. They are also 8-2 straight up over their last ten games overall.
It is also worth noting that the favorite is a perfect 4-0 ATS over the last four meetings between these two teams, which certainly bodes well for Los Angeles. I am fully expecting that trend to continue here in Week 16, so I’m going to lay the two touchdowns and side with the road favorite to cover in what should be a complete blowout.
