Central Michigan has now won four out of their last five games after a thrilling 45-44 road victory against Ball State last weekend. NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: CMU -9.5
It’s hard not to like the surging Chippewas against the spread in this MAC West clash, as there is no doubt that they have been the far superior team on both sides of the ball through the first 13 weeks of the season. Central Michigan has also performed quite well against the spread this year, going a very impressive 8-2-1 ATS over their last eleven outings. Toledo hasn’t fared nearly as well, failing to cover the number in seven out of their first eleven games -including going a brutal 0-5 against the spread on the road. The Rockets have also under-performed against conference opponents over the past several months, as they are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven meetings with Mid-American schools.

The only recent trend that gives me any sort of pause in this spot is the embarrassing 0-9 record that the Chippewas own against the spread in their last nine meetings with Toledo. However, all signs certainly point to this being a drastically different Central Michigan squad, as their winning percentage this season has been their best since 2009. I’m going to lay the 9.5 points and roll with the home favorite here in Week 14, as the Chippewas should finally find a way to snap out of their downswing in this particular MAC West rivalry. Give me Central Michigan to cover!
