Chiefs vs Broncos Game Odds & Betting Preview

Denver Broncos

The Broncos are now 2-0 with Drew Lock starting at quarterback after crushing Houston 38-24 on the road last weekend to improve to 5-8 on the season overall. Lock feasted on a shaky Texans secondary, going 22/27 for 309 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air. RB Phillip Lindsay led the way on the ground, rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown on a team-high 16 carries. TE Noah Fant also chipped in, exploding for 113 receiving yards and a touchdown on just four catches. As a whole, the Broncos gained 399 total yards and found the end zone four times on offense in the win.

Denver was fairly mediocre defensively against the Texans, giving up well over 400 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Broncos had no answer for Houston WR DeAndre Hopkins, allowing him to rack up seven receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs won their third straight game last weekend, slipping by New England 23-16 on the road to move to 9-4 on the season overall. Kansas City scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter and managed to hold on down the stretch despite getting outscored 9-3 over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Patrick Mahomes went 26/40 for 283 passing yards and a touchdown through the air but also got picked off once as well. RB LeSean McCoy had a tough time finding room to run against a strong Patriots run defense, averaging only 3.5 yards per carry. TE Travis Kelce led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in seven catches for 66 yards. Overall, the Chiefs generated over 350 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns in the victory.

Kansas City had a pretty decent outing on the other side of the ball against the Patriots, surrendering just over 300 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. The Chiefs were especially strong defending against the run, as no New England player managed to gain more than 33 total rushing yards the entire game.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: OVER 45

While I am also certainly tempted by the ten points in a game that could easily stay fairly close throughout, I think my favorite play from this AFC West showdown is the OVER on 45 total points scored. The Broncos offense has really been firing on all cylinders since Lock took over under center, racking up 61 total points over just their last two outings. Kansas City hasn’t exactly been a powerhouse defensively either, giving up at least 30 points four times this year already. The Chiefs offense is obviously capable of doing a lot of damage in a hurry as well, scoring at least 30 points six times through their first 13 games.

While these two AFC West rivals only combined for 36 total points when they met back in mid-October, the Broncos offense should have a much better outing with Lock starting at quarterback here in Week 15. It is also important to note that the total has now gone OVER in four out of Denver’s last five games overall. On the other side, the OVER has come through in five out of Kansas City’s last seven home games and in two out of their last three battles with Denver at Arrowhead Stadium as well. As much as I want to roll the dice with the Broncos and boatload of points, the optimal play in this spot is the OVER on 45 total points scored in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.
