Chiefs vs Titans Game Odds & Betting Preview

Tennessee Titans

The Titans stunned Baltimore on the road last weekend, winning by double-digits despite being ten point underdogs prior to kickoff. Tennessee jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and never looked back, scoring two more touchdowns in the third quarter en route to a 28-12 victory. QB Ryan Tannehill didn’t have to do much through the air, going 7/14 for 88 passing yards and two touchdowns. RB Derrick Henry was an absolute monster on the ground, exploding for 195 rushing yards on a game-high 30 carries. Kalif Raymond led the way for the receiving corps, finding the end zone on a 45-yard catch. Overall, the Titans generated over 300 total yards and scored three touchdowns on offense against a formidable Baltimore defense.

Tennessee was exceptional on the other side of the ball against the Ravens, surrendering just a single touchdown despite allowing well over 525 totalĀ  yards of offense. The Titans did struggle to slow down Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson on the ground, as he racked up 143 rushing yards on 20 carries.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs pulled off an explosive comeback victory over visiting Houston last weekend, scoring 28 unanswered points after falling behind 24-0 in the first half. Kansas City really put on a show offensively, torching the Texans defense for well over 400 total yards and scoring seven touchdowns. QB Patrick Mahomes was fantastic through the air, throwing for 321 passing yards and five touchdowns. RB Damien Williams tallied 74 all-purpose yards while also adding two rushing touchdowns as well. TE Travis Kelce absolutely lit up the secondary, hauling in ten receptions for 134 yards and three touchdowns.

Kansas City wasn’t nearly as impressive defensively on Sunday afternoon, allowing the Texans offense to gain nearly 500 total yards of offense and score three touchdowns. However, the Chiefs were pretty solid on the ground, limiting Houston to only 94 net rushing yards.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Chiefs -7

Despite getting burned by the chalk against Tennessee last weekend, I think that Kansas City currently offers just slightly more value against the spread in this AFC showdown. While I would definitely avoid the many books that have the Chiefs listed at -7.5, I don’t mind laying a full touchdown in order to roll with Mahomes and Co. in this spot. Of course, the biggest obstacle standing in the way for the home favorite is RB Derrick Henry, who was basically unstoppable against both New England and Baltimore. However, if Kansas City can somehow force the Titans to rely on Tannehill a bit more, they should be able to win this game by at least a touchdown.

The Titans have really excelled in this matchup in recent history, going a rock-solid 4-1 against the spread in their last five battles against Kansas City. Tennessee has also really performed well at Arrowhead Stadium, covering the number in six out of their last seven visits. Finally, they are also a perfect 5-0 against the spread over their last five road games as well. On the other side, the Chiefs are a perfect 7-0 against the spread since late November. They also are undefeated ATS in five straight games at home. I’ll lay the seven points and take my chances with Kansas City on Sunday afternoon – give me the Chiefs to cover and advance to the Super Bowl!
