Taking a look at the Week 12 college football odds, Clemson opened as a 32.5-point road favorite earlier this week. The spread has increased by over a full point after early betting, as the Tigers are currently available at -34. The total for the game is sitting at 60 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Clemson vs Wake Forest
Wake Forest lost their second game of the season last weekend, falling 36-17 on the road against Virginia Tech to drop to 7-2 overall. The Demon Deacons got outscored 17-7 in the third quarter and never recovered, allowing the Hokies to tack on 13 more points over the final 15 minutes of the game. QB Jamie Newman certainly wasn’t at his best, going 16/35 for 238 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air but also getting picked off twice. RB Cade Carney led the way on the ground despite rushing for only 46 yards. The receiving duo of Kendall Hinton and Sage Surratt made a big impact, combining for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, Wake Forest generated just over 300 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns in the loss.
The Demon Deacons didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball against Virginia Tech, surrendering over 450 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Wake Forest couldn’t find a way to slow down the Hokies rushing attack, allowing 200+ yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Clemson stayed unbeaten on the season their last time out, crushing NC State 55-10 on the road to improve to 10-0 overall. The Tigers scored six unanswered touchdowns in the first half alone en route to a blowout victory. QB Trevor Lawrence went 20/27 for 276 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air while RB Travis Etienne rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins also got in on the scoring parade, combining for 148 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches. As a whole, Clemson gained over 550 total yards of offense and eight touchdowns.
The Tigers were extremely solid defensively against NC State, holding the Wolfpack to just over 300 total yards of offense and one touchdown. Clemson was especially strong defending against the pass, holding QB Devin Leary to only 166 yards through the air.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: OVER 60
I’m definitely not seeing a ton of value against the spread on either side, as Clemson should win this game outright with relative ease but might struggle to cover almost five touchdowns. While the Tigers are a perfect 10-0 straight up over their last ten meetings with Wake Forest, the series is an even split against the spread. Even though I would probably lean towards laying the boatload of points and rolling with Clemson at home on Saturday afternoon, I certainly don’t feel all that great about it against a more than capable conference rival. However, I do think that the OVER on 60 total points scored is a decent play, especially since the Tigers could easily put up 50+ points on their own. Clemson has really been firing on all cylinders offensively as of late, scoring at least 55 points in three straight games.

It is also worth noting that these two schools have been involved in some high-scoring battles together in recent years, as the total has gone OVER in two out of their last three meetings overall. The OVER has also come through in three out of Clemson’s last four home games as well. I’m going to avoid both teams against what looks to be a pretty efficient spread in favor of the OVER on 60 total points scored in what should be yet another blowout victory for the Tigers.
