The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (4-4) welcome the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (6-2) to Conway on Thursday for a Sun Belt Conference showdown. Kickoff is set for 8:30 PM EST on November 7th at Brooks Stadium and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
Taking a look at the Week 11 college football odds, Louisiana opened as a 14-point road favorite earlier this week. The spread hasn’t moved at all after early betting, as the Ragin’ Cajuns are currently available at -14. The total for the game is sitting at 57.5 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Coastal Carolina vs Louisiana
Louisiana won their second straight game last weekend, cruising to a 31-3 victory at home against Texas State to improve to 6-2 on the season overall. The Ragin’ Cajuns scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter and never looked back, completely shutting out the Bobcats offense over the final 30 minutes of the game en route to a double-digit victory. QB Levi Lewis went 13/21 for 183 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 40 rushing yards on the ground. RB Elijah Mitchell played well, rumbling for 126 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries. Raymond Calais also found the end zone, connecting with Lewis on a 34-yard touchdown strike in what turned out to be his only reception of the day. Overall, Louisiana gained well over 450 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns in the win.
The Ragin’ Cajuns had a fantastic outing on the other side of the ball against Texas State, holding the Bobcats to just over 250 total yards of offense and giving up just a single field goal all game. Louisiana was especially impressive defending against the run, surrendering only 58 net rushing yards.
Coastal Carolina snapped a three game losing slide last weekend, slipping by Troy 36-35 at home to get back to .500 on the season overall. The Chanticleers erased a four-point half time deficit over the final 30 minutes of the game, outscoring the Trojans 19-14 over the final two quarters to win by just a single point. QB Bryce Carpenter went 32/45 for 285 yards and a touchdown through the air while also rushing for 46 yards on 15 carries. Jacqez Hairston also had success on the ground, rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Jaivon Heiligh led the way for the receiving corps, making 12 receptions for 107 yards. As a whole, Coastal Carolina generated just under 500 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns against a below average Trojans defense.
The Chanticleers weren’t that great defensively against Troy, getting torched for 500 total yards of offense and five touchdowns. Coastal Carolina really struggled to contain the Trojans receiving duo of Kaylon Geiger and Reginald Todd, as they combined for 234 yards and three touchdowns.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: OVER 57.5
While I’m also somewhat tempted to lay the two full touchdowns and roll with the road favorite in this Sun Belt Conference clash, Coastal Carolina has shown that they can put points up on the board in a hurry throughout the first ten weeks of the season. Of course, I don’t trust the Chanticleers defense at all either, so I’m certainly not interested in them against the spread in what should be a fairly easy win for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Louisiana is a very impressive 7-1 against the spread through their first eight games, including going a perfect 3-0 ATS when on the road. However, my favorite play from this matchup is likely the OVER on 57.5 total points scored. Coastal Carolina should give up 35+ points in this spot a large percentage of the time, as they have surrendered 30+ points in four straight outings. The Chanticleers have also played well on offense as of late, racking up 183 total points over their last five games combined.

Louisiana has also been quite strong offensively this year, scoring at least 31 points in six out of their last seven games. It is also important to note that the total has gone OVER in two out of their last three road games as well. On the other side, the OVER has come through in five out of Coastal Carolina’s last six games overall. I’m going to roll with the Ragin’ Cajuns against the spread in a game they should win with relative ease, but am much even more excited about the OVER on 57.5 total points scored in what should be a fast-paced Sun Belt Conference matchup on Thursday night.
