The Troy Trojans (3-4) travel to Conway this weekend for a Sun Belt Conference showdown against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (3-4). Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM EST on November 2nd at Brooks Stadium and the game will be televised on ESPN3.

Taking a look at the Week 10 college football odds, Coastal Carolina opened as a slim 1-point home underdog earlier this week. The spread hasn’t moved at all after early betting, as the Chanticleers are currently available at +1. The total for the game is sitting at 61.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Coastal Carolina vs Troy

Troy has now lost three out of their last four games after falling 52-33 on the road against Georgia State last weekend to drop to 3-4 on the season overall. The Trojans trailed 28-14 at the half and never recovered, surrendering two more touchdowns and a field goal en route to a double-digit defeat. QB Kaleb Barker played very well, going 34/45 for 421 yards and two touchdowns through the air. DK Billingsley was a monster on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries. Khalil McClain chipped in as well, hauling in eight receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, Troy gained well over 500 total yards of offense and scored five touchdowns despite coming up short on the scoreboard.

The Trojans had a poor outing on the other side of the ball against Georgia State, giving up well over 550 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns. Troy got absolutely torched on the ground by the Panthers, who racked up over 350 rushing yards and found the end zone on five different running plays.

Coastal Carolina dropped back below the .500 mark on the season after a tough 30-27 overtime loss against Georgia Southern their last time out. The Chanticleers kicked a late field goal to force extra time but couldn’t find a way to get into the end zone on their third possession in OT. QB Bryce Carpenter went 11/14 for 96 yards and a touchdown through the air while also leading the way on the ground with 61 rushing yards and a touchdown on a team-high 23 carries. Isaiah Likely made his only catch of the game count, finding the end zone on a 35-yard strike from Carpenter. Overall, Coastal Carolina generated just under 250 total yards of offense and scored thee touchdowns.

The Chanticleers weren’t that great defensively against Georgia Southern, giving up over 350 total yards of offense and four touchdowns in the loss. Coastal Carolina had no answer for Eagles RB Wesley Kennedy III, as he racked up 129 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Troy -1

This is shaping up to be a pretty entertaining battle between these two Sun Belt Conference Rivals, as this game could easily go either way on Saturday afternoon. Even though Troy is on the road this weekend, I’m still leaning slightly towards the Trojans against the spread. Coastal Carolina has now failed to cover the number in six out of their last seven home games overall, so playing at Brooks Stadium may not give them that big of a boost. Troy has also dominated this particular matchup in recent years, going a perfect 2-0 against the spread over the last two meetings between these two schools while also averaging well over 40 points per game over that time span.

The Chanticleers are just 3-8 straight up over their last 11 games overall, which certainly doesn’t bode well for them here in Week 10. Coastal Carolina has also really struggled in conference games over the past several months, going an embarrassing 0-7 outright in their last seven meetings with an opponent from the Sun Belt Conference. I’m going to lay the single point and take my chances with the slight road favorite in this matchup – give me Troy to win this game outright!
