Taking a look at the Week 12 college football odds, Utah State opened as a 26-point road favorite earlier this week. That line has shifted by a full point after early betting, as the Aggies are currently listed at -27. The total for the game is sitting at 73.5 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Colorado State vs Utah State
Utah State dismantled San Jose State 62-24 last weekend to improve to 9-1 on the season. The Aggies are now a perfect 6-0 in MWC play and will face Boise State in Week 13 for top spot in the Mountain Division. QB Jordan Love had a monster game against the Spartans, throwing for 491 yards and five touchdowns. Love now has 2,676 passing yards and 24 touchdowns in just ten games. On the ground, the duo of Darwin Thompson and Gerold Bright have combined for 22 touchdowns and over 150 rushing yards per game. As a whole, Utah State is currently averaging a ridiculous 51.3 points per game on 517.5 total yards of offense. They have really moved the ball well through the air, averaging 293.4 passing yards per game (19th overall).
The Aggies have also been quite impressive on the other side of the ball, holding opponents to an average of just 21.9 points per game on 360.7 yards of total offense. They have been especially strong against the run, giving up only 134.3 yards on the ground per game (30th overall).
Colorado State got hammered 49-10 by Nevada last weekend to drop to 3-7 on the season and 2-4 in MWC play. The Rams were dominated on both sides of the ball, giving up 636 yards of total offense while only accumulating 260 yards of offense themselves. QB Collin Hill passed for 186 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 after getting the start over K.J. Carta-Samuels. Carta-Samuels has actually played pretty well this season, throwing for 2,172 yards and 18 touchdowns. As of Friday, all signs are pointing to Collin Hill going back to the bench after the Rams offense generated just 31 points over their last two games combined. WR Preston Williams has also played well, racking up nine touchdowns while averaging 7.8 receptions and 102.0 yards per game. Overall, Colorado State is averaging just 23.1 points per game (118th overall) on 398.3 total yards of offense.
On the other side of the ball, the Rams are currently giving up a troubling 38.5 points per game on 463.9 yards per game. They have been especially awful against the run, giving up an average of 210.0 yards per game on the ground (105th overall).
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Utah State -27
Utah State has been close to perfect so far this season, as their only loss came all the way back in Week 1 against a tough Michigan State team. The Aggies offense is scoring the most points per game in the entire country, which doesn’t bode well for a horrendously bad Colorado State defense. The Rams have given up 40+ points in half of their games this year, and I’m fully expecting it to happen yet again here in Week 12. Jordan Love has already thrown 24 touchdowns and has a real shot at reaching 30+ in the final two weeks of the season.

The Aggies are 10-2 ATS over their last 12 games against teams with a losing record. They are also 8-0 ATS in their last eight games on turf and 9-1 ATS over their last ten games overall. Colorado State is a brutal 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
I am fully expecting this game to be basically out of reach by halftime, as the Rams have been awful on both sides of the ball. While it’s the Aggies offense that gets most of the spotlight, their defense has also been solid and is currently allowing under 22 points per game. This has all the signs of a 30+ point win for Utah State, so with the line currently at about four touchdowns, I think there is still a lot of value to be found with the road favorite. I’m laying the points all day in this spot- this should be an easy cover for the Aggies.
