Colts vs Jaguars Game Odds & Betting Preview

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars saw their modest two game winning streak come to a close in Week 9, falling 26-3 in London against Houston to drop to 4-5 on the season overall. Jacksonville gave up ten unanswered points in the third quarter and never recovered, scoring just a single field goal the entire game. QB Gardner Minshew went 27/47 for 309 passing yards but failed to find the end zone through the air while also getting picked off twice. RB Leonard Fournette led the way on the ground, rushing for just 40 yards on 11 carries. Keelan Cole was the most consistent member of the receiving corps, hauling in five catches for 80 yards. Overall, the Jaguars generated just under 400 total yards of offense in the loss.

Jacksonville was average defensively against the Texans, giving up over 400 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Jaguars struggled to contain Houston RB Carlos Hyde on the ground, as he rushed for 160 yards on a team-high 19 carries.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts lost their second straight game last weekend after a tough 16-12 home loss against Miami. Indianapolis trailed 10-0 at the half and couldn’t find a way to pull off a comeback despite outscoring the Dolphins 12-6 over the final two quarters of the game. QB Brian Hoyer didn’t play well in his first start for the injured Jacoby Brissett, throwing three interceptions against one of the worst secondaries in the entire NFL. Hoyer also went just 18/39 for 204 passing yards, although he did connect with TE Jack Doyle for a touchdown in the second half. RB Marlon Mack led the way on the ground, rushing for 74 yards on a team-high 19 carries. As a whole, the Colts gained just over 300 total yards of offense against a weak Miami defense.

Indianapolis had a decent outing on the other side of the ball in Week 10, holding the Dolphins to under 250 total yards of offense and one touchdown. The Colts were especially strong defending against the run, allowing only 70 rushing yards.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Colts -2.5

It appears as if both teams will get their starting quarterbacks back for this AFC South battle, as Nick Foles and Jacoby Brissett were both cleared to return to action earlier this week. I’m leaning towards the home side on Sunday afternoon, as Indianapolis has certainly been much more consistent on both sides of the ball. Jacksonville has also really struggled on the road recently, going just 3-8 straight up over their last 11 games. The Colts defense has really done a great job over the last month or so, holding opposing offenses to 13 points or less three times since the beginning of October. That certainly doesn’t bode well for a Jaguars offense that has only averaged around 17 points per game over their last four outings.

I’m also not all that concerned about the fact that Jacksonville is a rock-solid 7-0-1 against the spread over their last eight meetings with the Colts, as Nick Foles has to be a little rusty in his first game back under center since Week 1. Brissett should also help stabilize things offensively for Indianapolis, as they could easily be 7-2 on the season overall if he hadn’t been forced to miss almost two full games. I’ll lay the 2.5 points and roll with the home favorite in this AFC South battle here in Week 11 – give me the Colts to cover!
