Dolphins vs Eagles Game Odds & Betting Preview
The Eagles lost their second straight game last weekend, falling 17-9 against Seattle to drop back below the .500 mark on the season. Philadelphia trailed 10-3 at the half and couldn’t find a way to pull off a comeback over the final two quarters of the game, scoring just one touchdown down the stretch. QB Carson Wentz continued to struggle, going 33/45 for 256 passing yards and a touchdown but getting picked off twice. RB Miles Sanders led the way on the ground, rushing for 63 yards on a team-high 12 carries. TE Zach Ertz was on the receiving end of the only touchdown of the game for the offense, hitting pay dirt on one of his 12 catches for 91 yards. As a whole, the Eagles gained over 350 total yards of offense in the loss.
Philadelphia was pretty solid defensively against the Seahawks, giving up well under 400 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. The Eagles did have a hard time slowing down Seattle RB Rashaad Penny on the ground, allowing him to rack up 129 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
The Dolphins have now lost two consecutive games after coming out on the wrong end of a 41-24 decision against Cleveland last weekend. Miami gave up four touchdowns in the first two quarters and never recovered, although they did outscore the Browns 21-13 in the second half. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 21/39 for 214 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air but threw two interceptions as well. Fitzpatrick also found the end zone on the ground, rushing for 45 yards and a touchdown on just five carries. DeVante Parker led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in six catches for 91 yards. Overall, the Dolphins generated over 300 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns despite coming up well short on the scoreboard.
Miami had a rough outing on the other side of the ball against the Browns, getting lit up for over 450 total yards of offense and five touchdowns. The Dolphins had no answer for Cleveland WR Jarvis Landry, as he torched the secondary for 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 10 catches.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: UNDER 45
While laying the ten points and rolling with the big road favorite is at least somewhat tempting, the Dolphins have actually been somewhat average against the spread so far this season. Philadelphia has also been terrible on offense as of late, scoring no more than 22 points in five out of their last six games overall. However, I don’t really trust Miami all that much either, especially with the Eagles desperately needing a win to move back into a tie for first place in the NFC East. Therefore, my favorite play in this matchup is the UNDER on 45 total points scored, as the Dolphins offense could be in for a long afternoon against a team that hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in four straight outings.

It is also important to note that these teams have been involved in their fair share of defensive battles together over the past couple of seasons, as the total has now gone UNDER in each of their last three meetings. The UNDER has also come through in five out of Philadelphia’s last seven games overall as well. A similar trend also appears on the other side of this matchup, as the UNDER has hit in 11 out of Miami’s last 12 battles against opponents from the NFC East. I’m going to avoid both sides against what looks to be a pretty efficient spread in favor of the UNDER on 45 total points scored here in Week 13.
