Dolphins vs Redskins Game Odds & Betting Preview
The Redskins lost their fifth straight game to open the year last weekend, falling 33-7 at home to New England. Washington trailed 12-7 at the half and completely fell apart over the final two quarters, getting completely shutout by the Pats defense while allowing Brady and Co. to tack on 21 more points. QB Colt McCoy had a rough outing, going 18/27 for 122 passing yards and no touchdowns while also getting picked off once. Steven Sims Jr. scored the only touchdown of the game for the offence, finding the end-zone on a 65-yard run on his only carry of the game. Terry McLaurin led the way for the receiving corps yet again in Week 5, making three catches for 51 yards. As a whole, the Redskins generated just over 200 total yards of offense against a rock-solid Patriots defense.
Washington didn’t have a great outing on defense against New England either, giving up well over 450 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. The Redskins had a tough time trying to slow down Tom Brady, as he passed for 348 yards and three touchdowns.
The Dolphins are also still in search of their first win, losing at home 30-10 against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4 and dropping to 0-4 overall. Miami trailed by a touchdown at the end of the second quarter and never found a way to get back into the game, getting outscored 13-0 over the final 30 minutes en route to yet another double-digit defeat. QB Josh Rosen went 17/24 for 180 yards and a touchdown but also threw a costly interception. RB Kenyan Drake had nine carries for 44 rushing yards while WR DeVante Parker found the end zone on one of his four receptions for 70 yards. Overall, the Dolphins gained just over 250 total yards of offense and scored only a single touchdown.
Miami had another bad game on the other side of the ball as well, allowing the Chargers to rack up almost 400 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Dolphins really had a hard time containing RB Austin Ekeler, who accumulated 122 total yards and scored one touchdown.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Redskins -3.5
This is probably the ugliest game on the entire schedule here in Week 6, as neither of these teams has found a way to win a single game so far this season. Something has to give on Sunday, however, so it will be interesting to see who can find a way to finally snap their losing streak. Washington fired head coach Jay Gruden after their loss last weekend, which opens up at least the possibility of a rebound performance. However, the Dolphins are coming off of their bye week, which should leave them well-rested at the very least.

While I will likely avoid this matchup altogether, I would rather side with the Redskins in this one as Miami has definitely been the worst team in the entire NFL up to this point. Washington has at least stayed competitive in several games, as they only lost to both Dallas and Philadelphia by a combined 15 points. They also might get a temporary boost from the departure of Jay Gruden, especially since Case Keenum will be back under center for this one after he was benched for several games. The Dolphins are a brutal 0-7 against the spread over their last seven games and have yet to lose a game by fewer than 20 points. I’ll lay the 3.5 points and roll with the road favorite in this one – give me Washington to cover.
