Eagles vs Bengals Vegas Betting Preview

Philadelphia (5-6) comes in off a 13-27 home loss to the Packers on Monday Night Football. It was a disappointing loss, as Green Bay came in having lost 4 straight. The Eagles are now just 2-6 over their last 8 games, which followed their surprising 3-0 start.

Cincinnati (3-7-1) enters off a 14-19 road loss to the Ravens. That’s now 3 straight losses for the Bengals, who are just 1-5-1 in their last 7 games. The only win during this stretch coming at home against the Browns.

Free Pick & Spread Predictions: Bengals +1.5

My early lean here would have to be on Cincinnati as a home dog. The Bengals are getting absolutely zero love from the public right now. This line certainly reflects that. While Cincinnati is clearly not as good as previous seasons, they aren’t as bad as you think. At least in my opinion.

A closer look at the Bengals schedules, shows they have played a brutal slate to start the year. Their 7 losses are against the Steelers, Broncos, Cowboys, Patriots, Giants, Bills and Ravens. Every one of those teams goes into Week 13 with a winning record.

Even though it came in a losing effort, I was impressed with their effort against the Ravens. This team showed me they aren’t about to quit on their season. What’s crazy, is they still aren’t out of the playoff picture. They are just 2-games back in the loss column to both Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the AFC North. They still get to play both of those teams at home. Their other 2 games aside from the Eagles are at Cleveland and at Houston. Both of which they can win.

On the flip side of this, I’m not so sure what the public is seeing in this Eagles team. Losing at home to the Packers in a prime time game isn’t something to get excited about. Green Bay had lost 4 straight and were getting thrown under the bus. Not to mention they had allowed 30+ points in each of their last 4 games and the Eagles only managed to score 13 against them.

That kind of performance in that big of a game really says a lot about this Eagles team. It’s almost like everyone is clinging on to their potential after their 3-0 start. The fact of the matter is they are 2-6 in their last 8 games. They have also been a horrible road team, going just 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS away from home. Simply put, this team should not be favored on the road against the Bengals.

It’s also worth pointing out that the Eagles are just 1-9 ATS in their last 10 off a double-digit loss at home. They are also a mere 1-5 ATS in their last 6 when playing on Sunday after playing the previous week on MNF. Bengals are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 in the month of December and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs a team with a losing record.
