Eagles vs Cowboys Game Odds & Betting Preview

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys finally snapped their three game losing slide last weekend, crushing the Los Angeles Rams 44-21 at home to get back to the .500 mark on the season. Dallas scored four touchdowns in the first half alone and never looked back, tacking on 16 more points over the final two quarters of the game. QB Dak Prescott went 15/23 for 212 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard exploded for a combined 248 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Tavon Austin and Jason Witten also got in on the scoring parade, finding the end zone one time each. Overall, the Cowboys generated close to 500 total yards of offense and scored five touchdowns in the blowout victory.

Dallas was fairly average defensively against the Rams, surrendering over 300 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. However, the Cowboys were exceptional against the run, allowing only 22 net rushing yards the entire game.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have now won two consecutive games after beating Washington 37-27 on the road last weekend to improve to 7-7 on the season overall. Philadelphia trailed 14-10 at the half but found a way to pull off an impressive comeback after outscoring the Redskins 27-13 over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Carson Wentz played well, going 30/43 for 266 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air. RB Miles Sanders was a beast on the ground, racking up 172 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. WR Greg Ward Jr. led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, the Eagles gained over 400 total yards of offense and found the end zone four times in the win.

Philadelphia didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball against the Redskins, giving up close to 400 totalĀ  yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Eagles had no answer for Washington WR Terry McLaurin, allowing him to turn just five catches into 130 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Cowboys -2

I’m leaning towards laying the two points and rolling with Dallas on the road in this battle for the division crown, as I still think they have been the more consistent team overall this season despite their well-documented struggles since the beginning of November. I really think that their huge win against a surging Rams squad should give the Cowboys a ton of confidence after coughing up their previously sizable lead atop the NFC East standings. Philadelphia also is dealing with some pretty key injuries on offense right now, as Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor and Jordan Howard all look like they will be watching from the sidelines on Sunday afternoon.

Dallas has certainly been the more consistent team against the spread through their first fourteen games, going a respectable 8-6 ATS. The Eagles haven’t fared nearly as well, going a troubling 5-9 against the spread and failing to cover the number in five out of their last seven home games overall. The Cowboys have also dominated this NFC East rivalry as of late, going 7-3 against the spread in the last ten battles between these two teams. On an even shorter scale, Dallas is a perfect 3-0 against the spread against the Eagles since November 2018. Finally, Philadelphia is just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven home games against the Cowboys. I’ll lay the two points and take my chances with Dallas in what should be one of the best games on the entire schedule here in Week 16 – give me the Cowboys to cover!
