Taking a look at the Week 10 college football odds, FIU opened as a 15.5-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread has moved up by a full point after early betting, as the Panthers are currently available at -16.5. The total for the game is sitting at 48.5 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Florida International vs ODU
Old Dominion has now lost seven out of their first eight games on the season after getting crushed 41-3 at home by FL Atlantic last weekend to drop to 1-7 overall. The Monarchs gave up 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and never recovered, scoring just a single field goal the entire game. QB Messiah deWeaver went 15/29 for 134 yards and got picked off once while Kesean Strong led the way on the ground with 13 carries for 60 yards. Eric Kumah turned in a solid performance, hauling in a game-high ten receptions for 99 yards. As a whole, Old Dominion only generated 204 total yards of offense in the lopsided loss.
The Monarchs had a brutal outing on the other side of the ball against FL Atlantic, surrendering well over 400 total yards of offense and five touchdowns. ODU really struggled to contain Owls WR Harrison Bryant, as he hauled in nine catches for 92 yards and a touchdown.
FIU couldn’t find a way to win their fourth straight game last weekend, falling 50-17 on the road against Middle Tennessee to move back to .500 on the season overall. The Panthers actually led 17-14 at the half before completely self-destructing over the final two quarters, as the Blue Raiders outscored them 33-0 down the stretch. QB James Morgan went 16/32 for 208 yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 14 rushing yards. RB Anthony Jones averaged over four yards per carry while WR Maurice Alexander chipped in with five catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. Overall, Florida International gained over 300 total yards of offense and found the end zone twice in their fourth loss of the year.
The Panthers were terrible defensively against Middle Tennessee, giving up almost 500 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns. FIU had no answer for the Blue Raiders on the ground, as they torched the defense for well over 450 yards and six rushing touchdowns.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: FIU -16.5
Even though there doesn’t appear to be a ton of value on either side of this Conference USA battle, I’d much rather take my chances with the home team rather than cross my fingers and hope that Old Dominion squeaks out just their fourth cover of the season. Florida International had won three straight games after a brutal 0-3 start before their tough outing against Middle Tennessee last weekend. Still, the Panthers had been playing well on both sides of the ball for almost a full month, as they managed to win by double-digits against UMass, Charlotte, and UTEP in consecutive outings. Old Dominion has also really struggled defensively as of late, giving up 110 combined points in just their last three games overall.

Florida International University has also dominated the Monarchs against the spread in recent years, going a rock-solid 3-1-1 ATS over their last five meetings. The Panthers are also 4-2 outright in their last six games overall and 4-1 straight up over their last five games at Riccardo Silva Stadium. On the other side, Old Dominion is only 1-4 against the spread over their last five games overall and a brutal 0-7 outright in their last seven outings. Finally, the Monarchs are also just 1-4 against the spread over their last five meetings with Conference USA opponents. I’ll lay the 16.5 points and roll with the heavy home favorite here in Week 10 – give me FIU to cover the number!
