Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Fresno State vs Nevada
Nevada managed to get past San Diego State on the road their last time out, upsetting the Aztecs 17-13 to improve to 6-4 on the season overall. The Wolf Pack scored two touchdowns in the second half to propel them to victory after scoring just a single field goal over the first two quarters of the game. QB Carson Strong went 19/26 for 147 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while RB Devonte Lee found the end zone on the ground despite rushing for only 1.3 yards per carry. Brendan O’Leary-Orange led the way for the receiving corps, making one catch for 50 yards. Overall, Nevada generated well under 250 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns against a rock-solid Aztecs defense.
The Wolf Pack had a very solid outing on the other side of the ball against San Diego State, giving up just over 300 total yards of offense and only one touchdown. Nevada was especially impressive defending against the pass, holding the Aztecs to under 200 yards through the air while also forcing an interception.
Fresno State has now lost three out of their last four games after falling 17-7 on the road against San Diego State last Friday to drop to 4-6 on the season overall. The Bulldogs trailed by just a field goal at the half but couldn’t find a way to pull off a late comeback after giving up a touchdown in the fourth quarter. QB Jorge Reyna had a tough night, throwing three interceptions and going just 14/26 for 136 passing yards. RB Ronnie Rivers led the way on the ground, rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown on a team-high 15 carries. Zane Pope also chipped in, hauling in three catches for 56 receiving yards. As a whole, Fresno State gained just over 200 total yards of offense and found the end zone just once in the defeat.
The Bulldogs were pretty decent defensively against San Diego State, surrendering just two touchdowns despite giving up over 400 total yards of offense. However, Fresno State did have a tough time trying to contain Aztecs WR Jesse Matthews, as he exploded for 119 yards on eight receptions.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Nevada +14
While I’m certainly not going to go out of my way to take either side against the spread in this Mountain West Conference clash, I think that the road underdog currently offers the most value in this matchup. The Wolf Pack should have a ton of confidence after knocking off San Diego State their last time out, especially since that same Aztecs team beat Fresno State 17-7 last weekend. Even though I am still fully expecting the Bulldogs to win this game outright at home on Saturday evening, I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Nevada found a way to make things interesting down the stretch.

Fresno State hasn’t fared all that well against the spread through their first ten games either, going just 3-6-1 ATS. They also have had a hard time taking advantage of playing at home so far this season, covering the number just once over their last four outings at Bulldog Stadium. Of course, it is also worth noting that Nevada is only 3-7 against the spread over the last ten meetings between these two Mountain West rivals, so they will really need to bring their A-game if they hope to buck the trend here in Week 13. While avoiding this spot altogether certainly wouldn’t be the worst play, I’ll take my chances with the boatload of points – give me the Wolf Pack to cover!
