The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (8-4) host the Army Black Knights (5-6) this weekend for an inter-conference clash from Oahu. Kickoff is set for 12:30 AM EST on December 1st at Aloha Stadium and the game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
Taking a look at the Week 14 college football odds, Hawaii opened as a 3.5-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread has come down by half a point after early betting, as the Rainbow Warriors are currently available at -3. The total for the game is sitting at 55 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Hawaii vs Army
Army won their second game in a row last weekend, crushing VMI 47-6 at home to improve to 5-6 on the season overall. The Black Knights scored 19 unanswered points in the third quarter and never looked back, completely shutting out the Keydets in the second half. QB Kelvin Hopkins Jr. didn’t do much through the air, going 4/7 for 49 passing yards and also getting picked off once. However, he did lead the way on the ground, racking up 208 rushing yards and a touchdown on a team-high 16 carries. Camden Harrison also chipped in, making three receptions for 48 yards. Overall, Army gained well over 600 total yards of offense and found the end zone seven times against a shell-shocked Keydets defense.
The Black Knights also had a fantastic outing on the other side of the ball against VMI, surrendering just over 250 total yards of offense and no touchdowns. Army was especially strong defending against the run, allowing only 40 net rushing yards.
Hawaii has now won three consecutive games after a hard-fought 14-11 home win against San Diego State. The Rainbow Warriors scored seven unanswered points in the first quarter and managed to hold on for the victory down the stretch despite giving up a late touchdown. QB Cole McDonald went 13/19 for 144 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while Chevan Cordeiro rushed for 59 yards on eight carries. Jason-Matthew Sharsh led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in ten catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, Hawaii generated well over 300 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns in the win.
The Rainbow Warriors were fantastic defensively against San Diego State, giving up just over 300 total yards of offense and only one touchdown. Hawaii did a great job defending against the run, holding the Aztecs to only 89 rushing yards.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Army +3
I’m leaning slightly towards taking the field goal and rolling with the Black Knights against the spread in this particular spot, as I think that Army could easily win this game outright. It’s always tough to get a solid read in these inter-conference battles, especially when the road team has to travel to Hawaii and adjust to a different time zone. There also isn’t usually a ton of history between these two teams this season in terms of mutual opponents, although as luck would have it, both programs did play Air Force earlier in the year. Things did not go well for the Rainbow Warriors in that matchup, as they got crushed 56-26 at home back in mid-October. However, it was a much different story for Army in their meeting with the Falcons, as they came up just short in a 17-13 road loss. That knowledge does come into play here a little bit, especially when coupled with how well Army fared against #10 overall Michigan.

The Black Knights came out on top when these two opponents met last year, winning 28-21 at home. I really feel as if this game is pretty much a toss up, which really makes the free field goal pretty enticing. I’m going to grab the three points and take a shot with the slight road underdog here in Week 14. Give me Army to cover and possibly even win outright!
