Free Betting Preview & Vegas Game Odds: Saints vs Jaguars
New Orleans Saints (4-1, 3-2 ATS)
No Drew Brees, no problem. At least for now. The Saints improved to 3-0 SU and 3-0 ATS under backup QB Teddy Bridgewater, as they defeated the Buccaneers 31-24 as a 3-point home favorite in Week 5. The week before they handed Dallas their first loss of the season in a 12-10 win as a 2.5-point dog and in Week 3 they knocked off the Seahawks 33-27 as a 5.5-point road dog.
The win over Tampa Bay might seem like the least impressive of the three, but that’s a big win inside the division for New Orleans. Not to mention the Bucs had just upset the Rams on the road the week before. As of now, the Saints have a 1-game lead on the Panthers for the NFC South lead.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3, 3-2 ATS)
The Jaguars come into this one off a hard fought 34-27 loss at Carolina. Jacksonville dug themselves out of a couple holes, but couldn’t ever take the lead. They fell behind 21-7 early in the 2nd quarter, but got it to 21-17 at the half. They went down 28-17 early in the 3rd quarter, but trailed just 28-27 with 5:52 left to play in the 4th quarter.
Jaguars had a 507 to 445 edge in total yards, but had 3 turnovers to the Panthers 0. Even more shocking is Jacksonville lost with Minshew throwing for 374 yards and 2 scores and Leonard Fournette rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Hard to read too much in these non-conference matchups, as the teams see each other just once every four years unless they meet up in the Super Bowl. New Orleans won the most recent meeting 38-27 as a 2.5-point home favorite back in 2015.
Free NFL Betting Pick & Predictions: Jaguars -1
My early lean here would be to back Jacksonville as a small home favorite against the Saints. I think this is the ideal time to fade New Orleans, who come in having won and covered all 3 games with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterbacks. Sharp money appears to agree, as the line has moved in favor of the Jaguars, despite around 65% of the public action being on New Orleans.

I’m seeing a lot of Bridgewater praise after his big game against Tampa Bay, throwing for 314 yards and 4 scores. The thing with that, is the Buccaneers are dead last in the NFL, giving up 323.6 ypg. Quite a bit worse than 31st place Dolphins at 296.3 ypg.
In his previous two starts he had just 177 yards against the Seahawks and 193 against the Cowboys. He also had just 165 yards on 30 attempts in relief of Brees against the Rams. With or without Jalen Ramsey, this is a really good Jaguars defense. I think it’s going to be really hard for New Orleans to get that offense going.
I know the Saints defense has been unbelievable since Brees went down, but Jacksonville is not an easy place to play this time a year. With the temperatures expected in the mid 80’s, I think we see New Orleans give up a few more big plays than we have seen the last few weeks.
You have to love what Minshew has done in relief of Nick Foles and more than anything the Jaguar’s fans are 100% on board with him and this team right now. I think the fans show up in a big way for this one and this is a game Jacksonville desperately needs to win. Big difference between 3-3 and 2-4. Give me the Jaguars -1!
