Jets vs Cowboys Game Odds & Betting Preview
The Cowboys lost their second straight game last weekend, falling 34-24 at home to Green Bay to drop back to 3-2 on the season overall. Dallas fell behind 14-0 early and never fully recovered despite scoring three touchdowns in the second half. QB Dak Prescott really struggled, going 27/44 for 463 yards and two touchdowns but also throwing three critical interceptions. Ezekiel Elliott struggled to get going on the ground due to the negative game script, rushing just 12 times for 62 yards and a touchdown with his team trailing throughout. WR Amari Cooper certainly did his part to help the Cowboys chances of pulling off the comeback, exploding for 226 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 11 receptions. As a whole, the offense racked up well over 550 total yards and scored three touchdowns despite coming up short on the scoreboard.
Dallas was a disaster on the other side of the ball against the Packers, surrendering over 350 total yards of offense and allowing four touchdowns. The Cowboys were basically at the mercy of Green Bay RB Aaron Jones, who scored all four touchdowns on his own while rushing for 107 yards on 19 carries.
New York Jets
The Jets have now lost four straight games to start the season after getting crushed 31-6 on the road in Philadelphia in Week 5. New York gave up 21 unanswered points in the first half and never recovered, scoring just six points the entire game. QB Luke Falk was just 15/26 for 120 yards through the air and also got picked off twice. In fact, the Eagles scored two defensive touchdowns in the victory to really put the game out of reach before the fourth quarter. It was announced that Sam Darnold will return to the lineup in Week 7 after missing several games due to mononucleosis, so that should provide a boost to an offense that has scored only nine points over their last three games combined. That statistic is especially embarrassing as the offense was technically outscored by their defense after they scored on a fumble and interception return back in Week 3 against New England.
New York struggled to slow down the Eagles offense in Week 5, giving up 31 points and over 250 yards of total offense. However, the Jets did do a good job defending against the run as Philadelphia only gained 84 net rushing yards.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Cowboys -7
This matchup does have the potential to be a lot closer than some people might think, especially with Darnold finally back at quarterback for the Jets. However, he may have to shake off a bit of rust after missing three consecutive games due to his illness. While I certainly don’t think there is a ton of value on either side, I still think that I have to take Dallas in this spot due to how poorly New York has played on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys will also really want to make a statement after two straight losses, especially against a team that has yet to win a single game so far this season. Dallas should be able to rebound defensively as well, as the Jets are ranked near the bottom of every major offensive category.

New York is also only 1-3 against the spread over their first four games of the 2019 regular season. The Jets have also really struggled in this matchup in recent history, going just 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings with Dallas at home. On the other side, the Cowboys are a very solid 4-1-1 against the spread over their last six games against the Jets overall. They are also 11-4 straight up over their last 15 games. Ultimately, I think there are still too many question marks with New York in this spot to hope they will rebound and stay competitive in a game for the first time in several weeks. I’m going to lay the seven points and roll with the road favorites – give me Dallas to cover here in Week 6!
