Jets vs Giants Game Odds & Betting Preview

New York Giants

The Giants lost their fifth straight game in Week 9, getting crushed 37-18 at home against Dallas on Monday Night Football to drop to 2-7 on the season overall. New York fought hard for three full quarters but completely unraveled down the stretch, getting outscored 21-3 over the final 15 minutes of the game. QB Daniel Jones went 26/41 for 210 passing yards and a touchdown through the air but also threw a costly interception as well. RB Saquon Barkley struggled to get anything going on the ground against a tough Cowboys run defense, averaging just 2.0 yards per carry. Cody Latimer was on the receiving end of the only touchdown of the game for the offense, finding the end zone on one of his two catches for just eight yards. Overall, the Giants gained over 300 total yards of offense but still came up well short on the scoreboard.

New York really struggled defensively against the Cowboys, surrendering well over 400 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Giants couldn’t find a way to contain RB Ezekiel Elliott on the ground, as he rushed for 139 yards on a game-high 23 carries.

New York Jets

The Jets have now lost seven out of their first eight games on the year after losing to previously winless Miami 26-18 on the road last weekend. New York gave up three touchdowns before the half and never recovered, as the Dolphins cruised to an easy victory over the final two quarters. QB Sam Darnold threw yet another interception, this time from Miami’s two-yard line where it looked like a Jets touchdown was imminent. RB Le’Veon Bell racked up over 130 all-purpose yards but failed to find the end zone while Jamison Crowder led the way for the receiving corps with eight catches for 83 yards and a score. As a whole, the offense generated well over 300 total yards but scored just a single touchdown in the defeat.

New York didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball in Week 9, giving up over 300 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Jets had no answer for Dolphins WR Preston Williams, as he hauled in five catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Giants -2.5

There really doesn’t appear to be a lot of value on either side of this all-New York showdown, as both of these teams have been brutal so far this season. Aside from going just 3-14 outright through the first nine weeks of the schedule, they are also a horrendous 5-12 against the spread over that same time span. However, the Giants have shown a few more signs of life lately, especially since getting Saquon Barkley back from injury. They only lost to Arizona and Detroit by a combined 11 points and have also scored at least 21 points in two out of their last three outings overall. The Jets have looked much worse over the past month or so, scoring just 33 points over their last three games combined. If they couldn’t find a way to beat the Dolphins last Sunday, I have a hard time seeing how they are going to knock off the Giants here in Week 10 – especially since Le’Veon Bell appears to be banged up and looks to be a game-time decision.

It is also worth noting that the Giants have absolutely dominated this matchup against the spread as of late, going a rock-solid 4-1-1 ATS over the last six meetings between these two teams. Not only have they averaged more than a touchdown more per game over that stretch, the Giants have also forced over two turnovers per game. That certainly could be the case again here on Sunday afternoon, as Darnold has thrown at least one interception in four straight games. I’m going to lay the 2.5 points and roll with the road favorite in what is basically a home game for both teams. Give me the Giants to cover!
