This Friday the Boston College Eagles (2-0) will host the Kansas Jayhawks (1-1). Kickoff is set for 7:30 EST at Alumni Stadium and will be televised on the ACC Network.
Oddsmakers opened this line up with BC as a 18.5-point favorite, but that didn’t last long. As for right now most books got the Eagles at -21.5 and some have made the jump to -22. The total for this one is 53 points.

Vegas Game Preview & Betting Odds: Kansas vs Boston College
One week after knocking off Indiana State 24-17 to get the first under new head coach Les Miles, the Jayhawks lost 12-7 at home to Coastal Carolina. Both times Kansas was on the wrong end of the spread. They were a 9.5-point home favorite against Indiana State and a 7-point home favorite against the Chanticleers.
I think it’s safe to say the offense is struggling to adjust to the new system of offensive coordinator Les Koenning. To only score 7 points and total 280 yards against Coastal Carolina is not a good sign of what’s to come. However, the Chanticleers did hold Eastern Michigan to 291 yards in Week 1.
Boston College Eagles
After upsetting Virginia Tech 35-28 as a 4-point home dog in Week 1, Boston College failed to cover the number as a massive 33.5-point favorite in a 45-13 win over Richmond.
It’s been a pretty balanced attack so far from the Eagles. Junior quarterback Anthony Brown has thrown for 438 yards with a 5-0 TD-INT ratio and A.J. Dillon is one 3 rushers with more than 100 yards on the ground.
The big concern coming into this season was a defense that only returned 3 starters. It definitely looks like they could struggle on that side of the ball. After giving up 442 yards and 29 first downs to Virginia Tech, they let the Spiders pile on 364 yards and 20 first downs.
Free College Football Betting Pick & Predictions: Kansas +21.5
My early lean here would be to grab the points with the Jayhawks. I think any hype around Kansas being a drastically improved team under Les Miles was put to rest with last week’s loss to Coastal Carolina. Just like that, I think we go from the Jayhawks being overvalued to undervalued and worth a look.

There’s also a different mentality being a big underdog and being favored to win. It’s a lot harder for up and coming teams to cover as a favorite than deliver as a dog. I also think it will be tough for Boston College to give the Jayhawks their full respect in this one.
While the offense is clearly a work in progress, that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Offensive woes are what got Miles fired from LSU. With that said, I think the Jayhawks will be able to put some drives together against this BC defense.
The other big thing is the defense has looked decent for Kansas. You don’t expect to lose many games when you give up just 12 points. Jayhawks only let Coastal Carolina convert 1 of 9 3rd downs and held them to just 3.5 yards/carry.
I’m not saying they are going to shutdown BC, but if they can simply hold the Eagles to 30 points or less, I think they can cover the 21.5. Give me the Jayhawks +21.5
