The #6 overall Oklahoma Sooners (9-1) host the Kansas Jayhawks (3-7) this weekend in a Big 12 clash. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM EST at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and the game will be broadcast on FOX.

Taking a look at the Week 12 college football odds, Oklahoma opened as a 36-point home favorite earlier this week. That line has shifted by half a point after early betting, as the Sooners are currently listed at -36.5. The total for the game is sitting at 71.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Oklahoma vs Kansas

Kansas lost their second consecutive game last weekend, falling 21-17 on the road against Kansas State to drop to 3-7 on the season overall. The Jayhawks led several times throughout the game, including a 17-14 edge in the 4th quarter before allowing the Wildcats to score the winning touchdown with under three minutes left in the game. QB Peyton Bender has played fairly well, throwing for 1,568 yards and twelve touchdowns in ten games. He has really done a great job avoiding interceptions, throwing just two all year long. RB Pooka Williams Jr. leads the way on the ground, rushing for 770 yards and four touchdowns on 130 carries. As a whole, Kansas is currently averaging just 22.9 points per game (110th overall) on 339.0 total yards. They have really struggled to move the ball through the air, averaging only 197.2 passing yards per game (97th overall).

The Jayhawks have also been below average on the other side of the ball, allowing opponents to score an average of 28.1 points per game (76th overall). They have really struggled to slow down teams in the passing game, giving up 253.5 yards per game through the air (99th overall).

Oklahoma has now won four straight games after sneaking by Oklahoma State 48-47 last weekend to improve to 9-1 overall. The Sooners put up a ridiculous 702 total yards of offense in the victory, as both the Cowboys had no answer on the ground for a dynamic Oklahoma rushing attack. The talented duo of Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon put up a combined 289 yards and five touchdowns to help knock off OSU. The defense also played a key role when it mattered most, as they were forced to stop a two-point conversion in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. WR Marquise Brown got in on the scoring parade as well, racking up eight receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown. Overall, the offense is currently averaging 49.0 points per game (2nd overall) on 577.1 total yards (1st overall).

On the other side of the ball, the Sooners are currently giving up 29.8 points per game (84th overall). They have really struggled quite badly against the pass so far this season, allowing 272.4 yards through the air per game (115th overall).

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Oklahoma -36.5

While this might seem like a pretty big number to cover, I think the Sooners clearly offer the best value in this particular spot. Kansas is one of the worst offensive teams in the country, while their defense has been allowing over 250 yards per game through the air. Oklahoma just came off a back and forth affair against a talented Oklahoma State team and need to keep winning in order to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Jayhawks are pretty much playing for pride at this point, and it may be difficult for them to keep battling once the game gets out of reach after the first couple of quarters.

Oklahoma is a very solid 14-6 ATS over their last twenty home games. They are also 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings with Kansas and 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings at home. Kansas is only 1-10 ATS over their last eleven games on grass. They are also just 8-17 ATS over their last 25 road games.

The Sooners have absolutely owned the Jayhawks in recent years, as they haven’t surrendered more than seven points in any of their last four meetings. In fact, they have held Kansas under 20 points for over a decade while going 13-0 overall during that time. Oklahoma is also at home this weekend, so they may give their starters a bit more garbage time in this one to really put on a show for the crowd. I’m laying the 36.5 points and rolling with the favorite to cover this massive spread – give me the Sooners.
