The Louisville Cardinals (7-4) head to Lexington this weekend for an inter-conference clash with the Kentucky Wildcats (6-5). Kickoff is set for 12:00 PM EST on November 30th at Kroger Field and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
Taking a look at the Week 14 college football odds, Kentucky opened as a 3-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread hasn’t moved at all after early betting, as the Wildcats are currently available at -3. The total for the game is sitting at 52.5 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Kentucky vs Louisville
Louisville won their second straight game last weekend, beating Syracuse 56-34 at home to improve to 7-4 on the season overall. The Cardinals scored four touchdowns in the first half and never looked back, cruising to a convincing double-digit victory. QB Malik Cunningham was fantastic, going 11/20 for 238 passing yards and five touchdowns. RB Javian Hawkins absolutely torched the Orange defense on the ground, racking up 233 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. WR Chatarius Atwell also got in on the scoring parade, finding the end zone twice on two of his five catches for 152 yards. As a whole, Louisville gained well over 600 total yards of offense and scored eight touchdowns in the blowout win.
The Cardinals didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball against Syracuse, giving up around 500 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Louisville had no answer for Orange RB Moe Neal on the ground, as he exploded for 163 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
Kentucky has now won three out of their last four games after crushing TN-Martin 50-7 at home last weekend to improve to 6-5 overall. The Wildcats scored 16 unanswered points in the first quarter and poured it on from there, tacking on four more touchdowns over the final 45 minutes of the game. QB Lynn Bowden embarrassed the Skyhawks run defense, rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns on just 11 carries. RB Asim Rose also chipped in, rushing for 105 yards and a score on six touches. Overall, Kentucky generated over 500 total yards and found the end zone six times on offense in the win.
The Wildcats also played well defensively against TN-Martin, surrendering well under 300 total yards of offense and just a single touchdown. Kentucky completely shut down the Skyhawks on the ground, allowing only seven net rushing yards the entire game.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: OVER 52.5
I’m not really seeing a ton of value on either side against the spread in this battle for state bragging rights, as the number currently looks pretty efficient to me overall. While I would probably lean slightly towards the Wildcats at home due to their perfect 6-0 record against the spread at Kroger Field, this matchup could easily go either way. However, I do think that the OVER on 52.5 total points is a pretty solid play, as Louisville has racked up 90 total points in just their last two outings. The Cardinals also haven’t been all that impressive on the other side of the ball this season, giving up at least 34 points seven times in just eleven games.

It is also important to note that these two rivals have been involved in plenty of high-scoring battles in recent history, as the total has gone OVER in four out of their last five meetings. The OVER has also hit in five out of Louisville’s last seven games and in five out of their last six outings on the road as well. On the other side, the OVER has come through in four out of Kentucky’s last six home games. I’m going to avoid throwing darts against a tough spread in favor of the OVER on 52.5 total points scored in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.
