Less than a week after the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers have made that seem like a distant memory.
The Lakers pulled off a blockbuster trade to finally acquire Anthony Davis from the Pelicans. Giving LeBron James the sidekick needed to return LA to the top of the league.
Aside from a lot of draft picks (including No. 4 overall in this year’s draft), the Lakers had to part ways with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart.
Special NBA Prop Bet: Who Will Be Los Angeles Lakers Point Guard?
Now the big question is how well Los Angeles fill out the rest of the roster. Will they try to add another superstar to the mix or will they try to spread out what money they have left on role players?
The big focus seems to be on who will be the starting point guard for the Lakers next season. Enough that oddsmakers have released a special prop bet (odds below).
The experts seem to think the most likely scenario is that LA will attempt to form a new “Big 3” with either Kemba Walker or Kyrie Irving.
Walker is the odds on favorite at +230 with Irving a little ways back at +475. Jimmy Butler (+688), D’Angelo Russell (+825) and Ricky Rubio (+928) are other big names in the mix.
