Taking a look at the Week 11 college football odds, Miami opened as a 5-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread has increased by over a full point after early betting, as the Hurricanes are currently available at -6.5. The total for the game is sitting at 48.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Miami vs Louisville

Louisville managed to get by Virginia their last time out, beating the Cavaliers 28-21 at home to improve to 5-3 on the season overall. The Cardinals scored two touchdowns over the final 15 minutes of the game en route to a seven-point victory. QB Malik Cunningham went 6/10 for 126 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while also racking up 97 yards and a score on the ground. RB Javian Hawkins was fantastic as well, rumbling for 136 rushig yards and two touchdowns on a game-high 28 carries. Chatarius Atwell found the end zone as well, hitting pay dirt on one of his six catches for 122 receiving yards. As a whole, Louisville generated over 350 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns in the win.

The Cardinals had a somewhat average outing on the other side of the ball against Virginia, giving up just over 300 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. Louisville limited the Cavaliers to only 78 yards on the ground but did allow RB Wayne Taulapapa to score two short-yardage rushing touchdowns.

Miami has now won three out of their last four games after an impressive 27-10 road victory against Florida State last weekend. The Hurricanes took a 17-3 lead in the second quarter and never looked back, giving up just a single touchdown to the Seminoles the rest of the way. QB Jarren Williams played quite well, going 21/37 for 313 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air. RB DeeJay Dallas led the way on the ground, rushing for 61 yards and a touchdown on a team-high 18 carries. Jeff Thomas and Daquris Wiggins also found the end zone, combining for 158 receiving yards and two scores. Overall, Miami gained just over 350 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns.

The Hurricanes were extremely solid defensively against Florida State, holding the Seminoles to just over 200 total yards of offense and only ten points. Miami also recorded two interceptions and surrendered only 44 net rushing yards to FSU all game.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: OVER 48.5

I’m not really seeing a ton of value with either of these Atlantic Coast Conference rivals in this particular spot, as the spread currently looks pretty efficient to me overall. While Miami deserves to be favored at home, they have been involved in plenty of close, low-scoring games so far this year which doesn’t make me feel great about laying almost a full touchdown. I also don’t really want to take the points with Louisville either, as the Cardinals have gone a brutal 2-9 against the spread over their last 11 conference games. They have also only found a way to cover the number in six out of their last 20 outings overall. With both schools going a combined 10-7 against the spread through the first ten weeks of the season, I’m much more inclined to take a shot with the OVER on 48.5 total points scored. Even though the Hurricanes rarely give up more than a couple of touchdowns, Louisville has now surrendered at least 39 points in three out of their last four games.

Miami has found a way to consistently put up points on offense for the most part, scoring at least three touchdowns in two out of their last three outings while also exploding for 35 points against Virginia Tech and 63 points against B-CU. I feel fairly confident that the Hurricanes can find a way to put up at least 30 points on Saturday afternoon, especially at home. The Cardinals offense has really kept them in a lot of games so far this year, averaging almost 35 points per game over their last four outings. I’m going to avoid guessing against what looks to be a very accurate spread in favor of the OVER on 48.5 total points scored in a game where both schools should combine for at least 49 points.
