Taking a look at the Week 12 college football odds, Wisconsin opened as a 14-point road favorite earlier this week. The spread hasn’t moved at all after early betting, as the Badgers are currently available at -14. The total for the game is sitting at 51 points.
Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Nebraska vs Wisconsin
Wisconsin snapped a two game losing streak last weekend, knocking off #23 overall Iowa 24-22 at home to improve to 7-2 on the season overall. The Badgers had a 21-6 lead heading into the 4th quarter and managed to hold on for the victory down the stretch despite getting outscored 16-3 over the final 15 minutes of the game. QB Jack Coan went 16/25 for 173 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while RB Jonathan Taylor exploded for 250 rushing yards on a game-high 31 carries. Quintez Cephus led the way for the receiving corps, making five catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. Overall, Wisconsin gained over 450 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns in the win.
The Badgers had a decent outing on the other side of the ball against Iowa, holding the Hawkeyes to under 300 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. However, Wisconsin couldn’t find a way to slow down WR Tyrone Tracy Jr. who torched the secondary for 130 yards and a touchdown on just five receptions.
Nebraska couldn’t find a way to get past Purdue on the road their last time out, falling 31-27 to drop back below the .500 mark on the season overall. The Cornhuskers jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter but it was all downhill from there, as the Boilermakers scored four touchdowns over the next 45 minutes en route to a four-point victory. QB Adrian Martinez went 22/39 for 247 passing yards through the air but also threw an interception as well. However, Martinez was outstanding on the ground, rumbling for 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. J.D Spielman also chipped in, hauling in six catches for 123 receiving yards. Overall, Nebraska generated just under 400 total yards of offense and found the end zone three times despite coming up just short on the scoreboard.
The Cornhuskers struggled defensively against Purdue, surrendering close to 450 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Nebraska had no answer for Boilermakers RB King Doerue, as he racked up 102 all-purpose yards and scored a touchdown on one of his five receptions.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Wisconsin -14
As long as this spread doesn’t increase by over half a point before kickoff, I think that the Badgers offer pretty decent value in this particular matchup. Not only have they won the Freedom Trophy six straight times, they have also gone 2-1 against the spread over their last three meetings with the Cornhuskers on the road. Nebraska has also really struggled against the spread so far this season, going a brutal 1-8 ATS through their first nine games. They also haven’t played well at Memorial Stadium recently, failing to cover the number in four out of their last five home games.

While the Badgers are only 2-4 against the spread over their last six games overall, they are 4-2 outright over their last six conference games. On the other side, Nebraska is a brutal 0-6 against the spread in their last six meetings with an opponent from the BIG 10 Conference. They are also a horrendous 0-6 against the spread over their last six games overall. I’m going to lay the two full touchdowns and take a shot with the road favorite in this spot – give me Wisconsin to cover!
