The Utah State Aggies (6-5) travel to Albuquerque this weekend for a Mountain West showdown with the New Mexico Lobos (2-9). Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM EST on November 30th at Dreamstyle Stadium and the game will be streamed on Facebook Live.

Taking a look at theĀ Week 14 college football odds, New Mexico opened as a 13-point home underdog earlier this week. The spread has come down by over two full points after early betting, as the Lobos are currently available at +10.5. The total for the game is sitting at 63 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: New Mexico vs Utah State

Utah State saw their modest two game winning streak come to an end last weekend, falling 56-21 at home against #20 overall Boise State. The Aggies gave up six touchdowns in the first half and never recovered, coming up well short on the scoreboard despite scoring 14 points over the final two quarters. QB Jordan Love went 21/36 for 229 passing yards and a touchdown through the air but also got picked off once as well. RB Gerold Bright led the way on the ground, rushing for 44 yards and a score on ten carries. Siaosi Mariner also chipped in, making four catches for 66 receiving yards. As a whole, Utah State gained well over 400 total yards of offense and found the end zone three times in the loss.

The Aggies had a brutal outing on the other side of the ball against Boise State, getting lit up for almost 500 total yards of offense and six touchdowns. Utah State had no answer for Broncos RB George Holani on the ground, as he racked up 178 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

New Mexico has now lost eight consecutive games after getting crushed 44-22 at home against Air Force last weekend. The Lobos trailed 14-10 at the half but completely self-destructed over the final two quarters of the game, getting outscored 30-12 down the stretch. QB Trae Hall didn’t do much through the air, going just 5/7 for 55 passing yards. RB Bobby Cole found the end zone on the ground, hitting pay dirt on one of his eleven carries for 58 rushing yards. Jordan Kress was the most consistent member of the receiving corps, hauling in three catches for 24 yards and a touchdown.

The Lobos were terrible defensively against Air Force, surrendering close to 550 total yards of offense and six touchdowns. New Mexico couldn’t find a way to slow down Falcons WR Benjamin Waters, allowing him to blow up for 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns on just four catches.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Utah State -10.5

It’s hard not to like the Aggies against the spread now that the number has been bet down, as they should easily find a way to win this game outright despite having to play on the road. Utah State has certainly been the much better team against the spread this year, as New Mexico is just 3-8 ATS through their first eleven games. The Lobos haven’t fared well at Dreamstyle Stadium either, failing to cover the number in five out of their last six home games. While it is at least slightly concerning that the Aggies defense gave up 56 points at home last weekend, New Mexico has only scored 41 total points over their last three outings combined.

It is also important to note that Utah State has dominated this Mountain West rivalry in recent years, covering the number in two out of their last three meetings with the Lobos. The Aggies are also 12-3 outright in their last 15 games against conference opponents as well. On the other side, New Mexico is just 3-11 against the spread over their last 14 games overall. I’m going to lay the 10.5 points and take a shot with the double-digit road favorite here in Week 14, as Utah State should find a way to grind out a cover in this matchup. Give me the Aggies!
