The #18 overall Baylor Bears (6-0) travel to Stillwater this weekend for an important BIG 12 duel with the Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-2). Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM EST on October 19th at Boone Pickens Stadium and the game will be televised nationally on FOX.

Taking a look at the Week 8 college football odds, Baylor opened as a 2.5-point road underdog earlier this week. The spread has shifted upwards by half a point after early betting, as the Bears are currently listed at +3. The total for the game is sitting at 65.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Oklahoma State vs Baylor

Baylor remained undefeated through their first six games of the season last weekend after slipping by Texas Tech 33-30 at home to move to 6-0 on the year.  The Bears trailed by a single field goal at the half but managed to comeback over the final two quarters, outscoring the Red Raiders 17-14 to force overtime. After exchanging touchdowns in the first period of extra time, Baylor found the end zone following a Texas Tech field goal to seal the victory. QB Charlie Brewer went 24/37 for 352 passing yards but also threw a season-high three interceptions. Brewer had a better outing on the ground, rushing for 55 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. R.J. Sneed led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in six passes for 84 yards. As a whole, Baylor gained over 500 total yards of offense in the win.

The Bears defense had an average outing against Texas Tech, giving up over 500 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. Baylor had no answer for Red Raiders RB SaRodorick Thompson on the ground, as he torched the defense for 153 rushing yards and two touchdowns on a game-high 28 carries.

Oklahoma State dropped to 4-2 on the season their last time out, falling 45-35 to Texas Tech at home. The Cowboys trailed 21-7 at the half and couldn’t find a way to pull off a comeback over the final two quarters despite finding the end zone four times. QB Spencer Sanders went 22/37 for 290 passing yards and two touchdowns but also got picked off three times. Chuba Hubbard had another fantastic game on the ground, racking up 156 yards and three touchdowns on a game-high 34 carries. The receiving duo of Tylan Wallace and Jordan McCray also chipped in, combining for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, Oklahoma State generated over 500 total yards of offense and scored five touchdowns despite coming up short on the scoreboard.

The Cowboys defense certainly wasn’t at their best against Texas Tech, surrendering just under 600 total yards and five touchdowns. Oklahoma State really struggled to slow down Red Raiders QB Jett Duffey, who threw for 424 passing yards and four touchdowns.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: OVER 65.5

I’m not exactly overly enthusiastic with either of these BIG 12 rivals against the spread here in Week 8, as this is shaping up to be a close game that could go either way. While Baylor has still yet to lose a game this season through their first six outings, Oklahoma State is a rock solid 5-1 against the spread. While I’m leaning slightly towards taking the points and rolling with the undefeated road underdog, I really don’t feel all that strongly about it. However, I am much more optimistic about the OVER on 65.5 as both schools have scored at least 30 points in four out of their first six games.

The Cowboys defense has not fared all that well for the most part this year, giving up at least 35 points in three out of their first six outings. It is also worth noting that the total has gone OVER in 12 out of Oklahoma State’s last 15 home games. While OSU has a rock-solid 11-1 record outright in their last 12 meetings at home with the Bears, I still really don’t feel comfortable with either team against the spread in this particular matchup. I’m going to avoid both sides in favor of the OVER on 65.5 total points scored in what should be a highly-flying, offense-first BIG 12 clash.
