The Arizona State Sun Devils (2-2) host the Oregon State Beavers (1-3) on Saturday night in Pac-12 action. Kickoff is set for 10:00 PM EST at Sun Devil Stadium and the game will be available on the Pac-12 Network.

Taking a look at the Week 5 college football odds, Arizona State opened as a 21-point home favorite earlier this week. That line has increased slightly after early betting, as the Sun Devils are currently listed at -21.5. The total for the game is sitting at 63.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Arizona State vs Oregon State

Oregon State opened up their Pac-12 schedule in Week 4 against Arizona, losing 35-14 at home to the Wildcats. Arizona absolutely destroyed the Beavers on the ground, rushing for 442 yards and three touchdowns. QB Conor Blount tried his best to keep Oregon State within striking distance, going 17/24 for 137 yards and two touchdowns. He has had a lot of help on offense this year from RB Jermar Jefferson, who has already rushed for 472 yards and six touchdowns in just four games. The Beavers are currently averaging a very respectable 32.0 points per game on an average of 454.8 total yards.

Things haven’t been quite as positive for Oregon State on the other side of the ball, as they are currently giving up an embarrassing average of 43.5 points per game on 540.0 total yards to opponents. They have been especially bad against the run, allowing an average of 280.3 rushing yards per game – almost dead last in the entire country (127th).

Arizona State lost their second consecutive game last weekend after opening their season up 2-0. The Sun Devils played the Washington Huskies tough all game, but eventually lost 27-20 to drop back to .500 on the year. QB Manny Wilkins and the rest of the Arizona State passing game couldn’t get anything going against a tough Washington secondary, gaining only 104 yards through the air all night. RB Eno Benjamin had a nice game on the ground, rushing for over 100 yards while also adding a touchdown. Wilkins is definitely the catalyst on offense for the Sun Devils, as the senior QB has thrown for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. As a whole, Arizona State is averaging 26.5 points per game on 393.0 total yards.

The Sun Devils have looked slightly above average on defense, as they are currently ranked inside the top half of teams across pretty much every defensive category. Arizona State is currently allowing their opponents to score an average of 18.8 points (30th) on 352.5 total yards per game (51st).

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Arizona State -21.5

This should be a pretty entertaining game that features a lot of scoring, although most of it is likely going to come from the Sun Devils. Oregon State is absolutely horrific on defense, ranking almost dead last in every major category. Not only are the Beavers 127th overall against the rush, they are also 127th in terms of scoring defense. I’m not overly concerned with Arizona State losing back to back games, as Washington and San Diego State are both good teams. The Sun Devils also showed they were for real back in Week 2 when they knocked off #21 Michigan State.

Arizona State has performed quite well against the spread lately, going 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. The Sun Devils are also 8-2 ATS in their last ten conference games, 5-1 ATS over their last six games in September, and 5-0 ATS over their last five games following a straight up loss. Oregon State is just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall and 1-4 ATS over their last five road games.

The Beavers have also really struggled against Pac-12 opponents, going 0-5 ATS in their last five conference games. Oregon State has also given up at least 35 points in each of their three loses so far this season. The Sun Devils showed that they could get their ground game going last weekend and now they get to face a team giving up 280+ rushing yards per game. I fully expect that trend to continue on Saturday night against a much improved Arizona State team, as new head coach Herm Edwards has certainly done a great job over the first few weeks of the season. Look for the Sun Devils to get back above .500 on the year with relative ease in this one. I’ll happily lay the 21.5 points and take Arizona State to cover the number at home.
