Patriots vs Cowboys Game Odds & Betting Preview

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have now won three out of their last four games after beating Detroit 35-27 on the road last weekend to improve to 6-4 on the season overall. Dallas scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and never looked back, tacking on 11 more points over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Dak Prescott went 29/46 for 444 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air while RB Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown on the ground. WR Michael Gallup absolutely torched the Lions secondary, exploding for 148 yards on nine receptions. Overall, the Cowboys generated over 500 total yards and found the end zone four times on offense in the victory.

Dallas didn’t play well defensively against the Lions, giving up over 300 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. The Cowboys struggled at times trying to contain WR Marvin Jones, as he made four catches for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

New England Patriots

The Patriots bounced back following a disappointing loss against Baltimore in Week 10, winning their ninth game of the season on the road in Philadelphia last weekend. New England scored eight unanswered points in the third quarter and managed to hold on down the stretch en route to a 17-10 victory. QB Tom Brady wasn’t at his best, going 26/47 for 216 passing yards. RB Sony Michel led the way on the ground, rushing for 33 yards on ten carries. Julian Edelman led the way for the receiving corps, making five catches for 53 yards while also throwing the only passing touchdown of the game on a trick play. As a whole, the Patriots gained almost 300 total yards and scored one touchdown on offense against a tough Eagles defense.

New England had another fantastic outing on the other side of the ball in Week 11, holding the Eagles to just over 300 total yards of offense and one touchdown. The Patriots were especially strong defending against the run, allowing only 81 rushing yards.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Cowboys +6.5

There really doesn’t appear to be a ton of value with either side in this inter-conference battle, as the spread looks pretty efficient to me overall. The total also looks pretty bang on, so the case could certainly be made for avoiding this matchup altogether. If forced to pick a side against the spread, I’m leaning just slightly towards taking the points and rolling with the road underdog. Tom Brady appears to be battling a minor injury and is slowly but surely showing some signs of aging, as the Patriots offense has really taken a back seat to the defense this year. While New England has obviously been outstanding on the other side of the ball, they have also enjoyed a very easy schedule up to this point of the season.

Of course, I would be somewhat surprised if the Pats don’t find a way to win this game outright – especially at home. However, Dallas has a ton of weapons on offense including Amari Cooper, Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Gallup, and even a resurgent Randall Cobb who racked up 100+ yards receiving and a touchdown last weekend. Dak Prescott is also capable of doing some damage on the ground as well, so it will be very interesting to see how New England responds after allowing Lamar Jackson rush for 61 yards and two touchdowns back in Week 9. I’ll take a shot with the 6.5 points and the road underdog on Sunday afternoon in what could easily turn out to be one of the most entertaining games on the schedule here in Week 12.
