The New England Patriots travel south of the border this weekend to take on the Oakland Raiders. Game time is 4:25 PM EST on Sunday, November 19th from Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico. The game will be televised on CBS.
Oddsmakers currently have New England as 6-point road favorites. That line has shifted only slightly, as the Patriots originally opened at -5. The over/under for the game is 51 points. Click here for a full list of the Week 11 betting odds and links to more game previews.
Patriots vs Raiders Vegas Preview & Game Predictions
New England crushed the Broncos 41-16 on Sunday Night Football last weekend, improving their record to 7-2. Tom Brady added another three passing touchdowns and currently has 19 total through just nine games. Brady has also only thrown two interceptions so far this season and has the best TD:INT ratio of any quarterback in the league. The Patriots defense has also been much improved lately after a horrific start to the season. New England has moved all the way back to being slightly above average defensively after allowing the most points per game in the NFL through the first several weeks of the season.
The Raiders are coming off their bye week after winning a close game at home against the Miami Dolphins back in Week 9. Oakland currently sits a game below .500 on the season and definitely need to turn things around fast if they hope to make the postseason. QB Derek Carr has passed for just under 2,000 yards on the year but has also been very interception-prone (7 total). Marshawn Lynch has looked below average and has continued to be a distraction off the field as well. On the other side of the ball, the Raiders have allowed opponents to score 30+ points in three out of their last five games. It looks like that will likely happen again this week, as New England is currently averaging the 4th most points per game in the NFL (28.6).
Free Pro Football Pick Against The Spread : Patriots -6
It will be interesting to see how both of these teams handle the change in altitude in Mexico City this week. I’m fully expecting New England to keep things rolling en route to another convincing victory. The Raiders have really struggled lately and have now lost five out of their past seven games. Even their victories during that span were hardly impressive, as they barely scraped by the lowly Dolphins and only beat Kansas City by a single point. Tom Brady should have another big week against the NFL’s 22nd overall pass defense – the Raiders are currently allowing an average of 244.6 yards per game through the air. I think the Patriots should be able to win this one relatively easily while also managing to cover the spread.

Oakland is 1-5-1 ATS over their past seven games against teams with winning records and just 1-5-1 ATS in their past seven games overall. New England is a very impressive 5-0 ATS over their past five games against teams with a losing record and 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games overall. Brady and Co. are averaging over 300 passing yards per game and should continue that trend in Mexico this weekend. As mentioned previously, New England has also been vastly improved on defense, allowing 17 or fewer points in five consecutive games. In fact, the Patriots have a combined points for/against total of 85 -36 for a +49 net total over their last three games.
Much has been made about the pressure Tom Brady has been under at times this year after some poor play by the Patriots offensive line on several occasions. He should have a lot of time against the Raiders this weekend, as Oakland is second last overall with just 13 total sacks so far this season. If Brady has time to find one of his many offensive weapons downfield, the Patriots are almost unstoppable. I think that is the case again this weekend, so I’m predicting that the Patriots stay hot and end up winning by double digits.
