Rams vs 49ers Game Odds & Betting Preview
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco remained undefeated through their first four games of the season in Week 5, crushing Cleveland 31-3 on Monday Night Football to move to 4-0 overall. The 49ers scored 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and never looked back, giving up just a single field goal the rest of the way. QB Jimmy Garoppolo went 20/29 for 181 yards and two touchdowns while Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman exploded for 211 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. TE George Kittle led the way for the receiving corps, making six catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Overall, San Francisco gained well over 400 total yards of offense in the blowout victory.
The 49ers were fantastic defensively against Cleveland as well, giving up only 222 total yards of offense and no touchdowns. San Francisco was especially strong against the pass, holding the Browns to only 120 yards through the air.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams dropped back to 3-2 on the season overall last week, losing 30-29 a divisional battle at home to Seattle. Los Angeles held a 26-21 lead at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t hold on down the stretch, getting outscored 9-3 over the final 15 minutes of the game. QB Jared Goff was 29/49 for 395 yards and a touchdown through the air, while RB Todd Gurley had a multi-touchdown game on the ground and rushed for 51 yards on 15 carries. However, he has been ruled out for Week 6 due to a thigh injury. The duo of Gerald Everett and Cooper Kupp really played well, racking up a combined 16 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, the Rams generated almost 500 total yards of offense despite coming up just short on the scoreboard.
Los Angeles had another tough outing defensively in Week 5, surrendering over 400 total yards of offense and giving up four touchdowns. The Rams got torched through the air by Seattle QB Russell Wilson, who passed for 268 yards and four touchdowns.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: 49ers +3.5
I have really been impressed with San Francisco through their first four games, as they have really looked strong on both sides of the ball. Not only have they only given up an average of about 14 points per game, the offense has scored at least 30 points in three out of their four outings this year. While Los Angeles is still a very strong team, they have definitely had some struggles to open their season after making the Super Bowl last February. Jared Goff in particular has really struggled, as his accuracy and confidence appear to have both dropped significantly. Despite the fact that they are playing on the road, I’m actually quite surprised that the 49ers are underdogs in this matchup. I think they offer very strong value at +3.5, as they could easily win this game outright and move to 5-0 overall.

Los Angeles will also be without the services of Todd Gurley on Sunday afternoon, which is definitely a bit of a blow to their chances of coming away with the victory here in Week 6. Despite his reduced role on offense, Gurley is still the lead back on the ground and found the end zone twice against the Seahawks just over a week ago. It is also worth noting that the 49ers are a very solid 5-2 against the spread over their last seven meetings with the Rams overall. I’ll happily take the free points and roll with the road underdog in this spot – give me San Francisco!
