Ravens vs Texans Game Odds & Betting Preview

Houston Texans

The Texans improved to 6-3 on the season overall their last time out, beating Jacksonville 26-3 in England. Houston scored ten unanswered points in the third quarter to break the game wide open en route to a double-digit victory. QB Deshaun Watson went 22/28 for 201 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding seven carries for 37 rushing yards. RB Carlos Hyde was a beast on the ground, rushing for 160 yards on a team-high 19 carries. DeAndre Hopkins found the end zone, hitting pay dirt on one of his eight receptions for 48 yards. Overall, the Texans generated over 400 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns in the win.

Houston was fantastic defensively against the Jaguars, holding Jacksonville to just a single field goal despite allowing almost 400 total yards of offense. The Texans were especially strong defending against the run, surrendering only 74 rushing yards.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens kept their winning streak going last weekend, crushing Cincinnati 49-13 on the road to improve to 7-2 on the season overall. Baltimore scored four touchdowns in the first half and never looked back, cruising to a blowout victory over the winless Bengals. QB Lamar Jackson was fantastic, going 15/17 for 223 passing yards and three touchdowns while also scoring a highlight-reel touchdown on the ground. Mark Ingram Jr. also got in on the scoring parade, finding the end zone on one of his nine carries for 34 rushing yards. Marquise Brown led the way for the receiving corps, making four catches for 80 yards and a score. As a whole, the Ravens gained over 350 total yards and scored five touchdowns on offense against a shell-shocked Bengals defense.

Baltimore had a dominant outing on the other side of the ball in Week 10, giving up just over 300 total yards of offense and scoring two touchdowns on returns after Cincinnati turnovers. The Ravens did a great job not allowing any extra points during garbage time, allowing just one field over the final two quarters.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: OVER 51.5

Even though I’m leaning slightly towards laying the 4.5 points and rolling with the home favorite against the spread here in Week 11, my favorite play from this matchup is the OVER on 51.5 total points scored. The Ravens offense has really been firing on all cylinders as of late, putting up 116 total points over just their last three outings – an average almost 40 points per game. Houston has also struggled defensively at times this year, especially after the loss of J.J. Watt. While they did hold the Jaguars to just three points in their last outing, they also gave up well over 25 points per game against Indianapolis and Oakland in late October. The Texans have done a lot of damage on the other side of the ball though, scoring at least three touchdowns in five straight games.

It is also important to note that the total has gone OVER in five out of Baltimore’s last seven games overall, which certainly bodes well for the chances of a shootout on Sunday afternoon. The OVER has also come through in six out of their last seven games against AFC opponents. I do think that there is some value in laying the 4.5 points and taking a shot with the Ravens against the spread, but the optimal play is probably taking the OVER on 51.5 total points scored in what should be one of the most entertaining matchups of the weekend.
