Redskins vs 49ers Game Odds & Betting Preview

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers won their fifth game in a row last weekend, beating the Los Angeles Rams 20-7 on the road to stay perfect through their first five games of the season. San Francisco scored ten unanswered points in the third quarter to take the lead and didn’t waver at all down the stretch, completely shutting out the Goff and Co. in the second half. QB Jimmy Garoppolo wasn’t at his best, going 24/33 for 243 yards through the air but also getting picked off once. RB Tevin Coleman found the end zone on the ground, while TE George Kittle racked up eight catches for 103 yards to lead the way for the receiving corps. As a whole, the 49ers generated over 300 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns in a double-digit victory over their NFC West rivals.

San Francisco was outstanding defensively against the Rams, giving up well under 200 total yards of offense and allowing only a single touchdown. The 49ers were especially solid against the pass, as Los Angeles QB Jared Goff was just 13/24 for 78 passing yards.

Washington Redskins

The Redskins finally won their first game of the season last weekend, slipping by the lowly Miami Dolphins 17-16 on the road to improve to 1-5 overall. Washington gave up 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter but still managed to hold on for the victory. QB Case Keenum went 13/25 for 166 yards and two touchdowns through the air while veteran RB Adrian Peterson rumbled for 118 rushing yards on the ground. Speedy rookie WR Terry McLaurin had another big game, recording four catches for 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Overall, the Redskins gained over 300 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns against a bad Dolphins defense.

Washington had a pretty solid outing on the other side of the ball against Miami, giving up 301 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. The Redskins did a great job putting pressure on QB Josh Rosen, as he threw two interceptions and was only 15/25 for 85 yards before getting pulled in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: 49ers -9.5

I’m always somewhat leery of laying big numbers on the road, but I definitely think that San Francisco currently offers the best value in this all-NFC matchup. The 49ers have been fantastic through their first five games, going a perfect 5-0 outright and 4-1 against the spread. They have also won four out of those five games by at least 13 points, which certainly bodes well for their chances of covering the spread against a bad Redskins team. Washington could easily be 0-6 right now, as they only managed to beat a brutal Miami squad by a single point. Four out of their five losses have also come by at least ten points, which will likely be the case yet again here in Week 7.

The Redskins have also really struggled against the spread so far this year, going just 1-5 ATS in six games. Washington is also a dreadful 0-5 ATS over their last five home games and 1-4 against the spread when facing the 49ers at home. On the other side, San Francisco is a perfect 3-0 against the spread in three road games this season. As long the Niners stay at -9.5 or better, I’m happy to lay the points and roll with the road favorites. Give me San Francisco to easily cover on the road in this matchup and move to 6-0 overall!
