The Lions have now lost three straight games after falling 35-27 at home against Dallas last weekend to drop to 3-6-1 on the season overall. Detroit gave up three touchdowns in the second quarter and never recovered, coming up eight points short at the end of the fourth quarter. QB Jeff Driskel went 15/26 for 209 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 51 rushing yards and a score on the ground. RB Bo Scarbrough also found the end zone on one of his team-high 14 carries for 55 yards. Marvin Jones also had a strong showing, hauling in four catches for 43 yards and two touchdowns. As a whole, the Lions generated well over 300 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns in the loss.
Detroit really struggled defensively against the Cowboys, surrendering well over 500 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. The Lions had no answer for Dallas WR Michael Gallup, as he racked up nine catches for 148 receiving yards.
The Redskins have come up short in nine out of their first ten games this season, losing 34-17 at home against New York last weekend to drop to just 1-9 overall. Washington trailed 20-3 at the half and couldn’t find a way to get back into the game despite scoring two touchdowns over the final two quarters. QB Dwayne Haskins went 19/35 for 214 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air but also but picked off once as well. Adrian Peterson couldn’t get much going on the ground, averaging only 2.8 yards per carry. Terry McLaurin led the way for the receiving corps, making three catches for 69 yards. Overall, the Redskins gained well under 300 total yards of offense and scored two touchdowns in the loss.
Washington didn’t have a good outing on the other side of the ball in Week 11, giving up over 400 total yards of offense and five touchdowns. The Redskins couldn’t find a way to slow down New York QB Sam Darnold, as he threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: UNDER 41
This is shaping up to be one of the ugliest games on the schedule here in Week 12, as both of these teams have really been struggling on offense as of late. Matthew Stafford is still sidelined for the Lions due to a back injury, so Jeff Driskel will get his third straight start on Sunday afternoon. Driskel had a better outing against Dallas last weekend, but is still a major step down from Stafford under center. On the other side, Dwayne Haskins appeared to take a couple steps in the right direction against the Jets. However, there is still a long way to go before the Redskins turn things around offensively. Washington has only managed to score 35 total points over their last four outings combined, an average of well under ten points per game.

These two NFC squads haven’t exactly been involved in a lot of shootouts together in recent years either, as the total has now gone UNDER in seven out of their last nine meetings. The UNDER has also come through in six out of Washington’s last seven games overall as well. Without enough of a sample size against the spread for either team considering the current quarterback situation on both sides, I’m going to take a shot with the UNDER on 41 total points scored instead in what should be a defensive battle.
