Seahawks vs 49ers Game Odds & Betting Preview
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have now won two out of their last three games after beating the Los Angeles Rams 34-31 at home last weekend to improve to 12-3 on the season overall. San Francisco scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Rams 10-3 over the final 15 minutes of the game en route to a three-point victory. QB Jimmy Garoppolo wasn’t at his best, throwing two interceptions and going 16/27 for 248 passing yards and one touchdown through the air. TE George Kittle led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in five catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, the 49ers generated almost 400 total yards and found the end zone three times on offense in the win.
San Francisco didn’t play well defensively against the Rams, getting lit up for almost 400 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. The 49ers had no answer for Los Angeles WR Robert Woods, allowing him to rack up 117 receiving yards on eight catches.
The Seahawks couldn’t find a way to get past Arizona at home last weekend, falling 27-13 to drop to 11-4 on the season overall. Seattle gave up ten unanswered points in the second quarter and never recovered, scoring just six points over the final 45 minutes of the game. QB Russell Wilson went just 16/31 for 169 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while Chris Carson averaged five yards per carry on the ground before being forced to leave the game due to a severe hip injury. TE Jacob Hollister also chipped in, making five catches for 64 yards. Overall, the Seahawks gained under 300 total yards of offense and scored just one touchdown in the defeat.
Seattle didn’t have a great outing on the other side of the ball against the Cardinals, surrendering over 400 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. The Seahawks couldn’t find a way to slow down Arizona RB Kenyan Drake on the ground, as he torched the defense for 166 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: 49ers -3
I’m leaning slightly towards laying the three points and rolling with the road favorite in this NFC West showdown, as the Seahawks are extremely banged up at several key positions right now. Seattle was forced to sign two veteran running backs after losing Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise for the remainder of the year, so the offense will certainly take a hit until Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin get up to speed. Despite losing just three games through the first 16 weeks of the regular season, San Francisco needs to win this game outright if they want to win the division and earn a first round bye and home-field advantage.

While the 49ers have been the better team against the spread so far this season, they haven’t fared well at all against the spread in this NFC West matchup in recent years. San Francisco is just 3-14 ATS over their last 17 meetings with the Seahawks and have covered the number just once in their last three battles. Even so, Seattle has really stumbled down the stretch – especially defensively where they have given up at least 24 points in four straight outings. I’ll lay the field goal and take a shot with the 49ers to get the job done on the road here in Week 17 – give me San Francisco to cover!
