Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: South Florida vs Memphis
Memphis has now won nine out of their first ten games after an impressive 45-27 road victory over Houston last weekend. The Tigers scored four touchdowns in the first half alone and cruised to victory down the stretch, giving up only a single touchdown over the final two quarters of the game. QB Brady White was fantastic, going 22/33 for 341 passing yards and five touchdowns through the air while also adding another score on the ground. Kenneth Gant also chipped in, rushing for 99 yards on a team-high 17 carries. Damonte Coxie and Antonio Gibson ran circles around the Cougars secondary, combining for 186 receiving yards and three touchdowns on just eight catches. Overall, Memphis gained well over 500 total yards of offense and found the end zone six times in the win.
The Tigers had a fairly solid outing on the other side of the ball against Houston, giving up well under 300 total yards of offense and just two touchdowns. Memphis was especially strong defending against the run, allowing only 99 net rushing yards on the ground.
South Florida came up just short against #17 overall Cincinnati last weekend, falling 20-17 at home to drop to 4-6 on the season overall. The Bulls had a 10- lead at the half but fell apart over the final two quarters, giving up 20 points over the final 30 minutes of the game en route to their second straight loss. QB Jordan McCloud went 18/27 for 267 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while Jordan Cronkrite rushed for 78 yards on a team-high 20 carries. Mitchell Wilcox was on the receiving end of the only passing touchdown for the offense, finding the end zone on one of his five catches for 29 yards. As a whole, South Florida generated well over 400 total yards and scored two touchdowns against a solid Bearcats defense.
The Bulls played well defensively against Cincinnati, surrendering under 300 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. South Florida completely shut down the Bearcats through the air, holding them to just 78 passing yards.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Memphis -14
I think that the Tigers still offer a little bit of value against the spread in this American Athletic Conference showdown, as they should find a way to outscore their defensive issues and cover the spread on Saturday afternoon. Memphis has really been firing on all cylinders on offense as of late, scoring at least 42 points in four straight games. While their play on the other side of the ball certainly leaves much to be desired, South Florida has only posted more than 17 points in a single game once over their last four outings. The Tigers have also really fared well away from home so far this season, winning four out of their last five road games outright.

The Bulls are still in the midst of a pretty big downswing, as they are a worrisome 2-6 straight up over their last eight games overall. They have also been brutal against opponents from the American Athletic Conference as well, going an embarrassing 2-9 outright in their last 11 conference games. I’m going to lay the two full touchdowns and take a shot with the road favorite on Saturday afternoon, as Memphis should put on another offensive clinic en route to their seventh cover of the year – give me the Tigers!
