Titans vs Bucs Game Odds & Betting Preview
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs have lost three out of their last four games after dropping a 37-26 decision at home against Carolina their last time out. Tampa Bay gave up ten unanswered points in the first quarter and never recovered despite scoring 16 points over the final 15 minutes of the game. QB Jameis Winston went 30/54 for 400 yards and a touchdown but also three a career-high five interceptions. Ronald Jones II and Dare Ogunbowale both found the end zone on the ground, although the rushing attack combined for just 42 net rushing yards all game. The dynamic receiving duo of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans was highly effective, combining for 247 receiving yards on 19 receptions. As a whole, the Bucs generated almost 450 total yards of offense despite losing by double-digits.
Tampa Bay was pretty bad defensively against the Panthers, giving up four touchdowns and almost 300 total yards of offense. The Buccaneers were actually surprisingly tough against RB Christian McCaffrey, holding him to just 57 all-purpose yards. However, he still did find the end zone twice in the Carolina victory.
The Titans snapped a two game losing streak last weekend, beating the Los Angeles Chargers 23-20 at home to improve to 3-4 on the season overall. Tennessee outscored L.A. 13-10 in the fourth quarter to escape with a slim three point victory. QB Ryan Tannehill played well in his first outing after unseating Marcus Mariota as the starting quarterback, going 23/39 for 312 yards and two touchdowns through the air. RB Derrick Henry led the way on the ground, rushing for 90 yards and a score on a game-high 22 carries. WR Corey Davis also chipped in, hauling in six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Overall, the Titans gained well over 400 total yards of offense and scored three touchdowns in the win.
Tennessee had a fairly solid outing on the other side of the ball in Week 7, holding the Chargers to just two touchdowns on over 350 total yards of offense. The Titans were especially strong defending against the run, surrendering only 39 rushing yards all game.
Free NFL Betting Predictions and Pick: Titans -2.5
Although I am certainly not overly enthusiastic about either side in this particular spot, I do think that the Titans currently offer the better value against the spread overall. Ryan Tannehill really looked comfortable under center last week, which definitely bodes well for Tennessee moving forward. Tampa Bay has had an up and down season so far but simply makes too many costly mistakes on offense, especially with Jameis Winston throwing ten interceptions in just six games. As long as this spread stays under a field goal, I’m going to take a shot with the slight home favorite in this matchup on Sunday afternoon.

The Buccaneers have also really struggled with Tennessee as of late, going a brutal 1-5-1 against the spread over their last seven meetings. They are also just 1-7 outright in their last eight games against the Titans as well. Tampa Bay also has been horrific on the road in recent years as well, going 4-16 straight up over their last 20 outings away from Raymond James Stadium. On the other side, Tennessee is a perfect 7-0 outright when facing the Bucs at Nissan Stadium. They are also undefeated over their last five meetings with an NFC opponent. I’ll lay the 2.5 points and side with the home favorite here in Week 9 – give me the Titans to cover!
