The #24 overall Arizona State Sun Devils (5-2) travel to California this weekend for a PAC-12 showdown against the UCLA Bruins (2-5). Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM EST on October 26th at Rose Bowl Stadium and the game will be broadcast on the PAC-12 Network.

Taking a look at the Week 9 college football odds, Arizona State opened as a 4-point road favorite earlier this week. The spread has moved down by a full point after early betting, as the Sun Devils are currently listed at -3. The total for the game is sitting at 55.5 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: UCLA vs Arizona State

Arizona State saw their two game winning streak come to a close last weekend, falling 21-3 on the road against #12 overall Utah. The Sun Devils gave up 14 unanswered points in the second quarter and never recovered, scoring just a single field goal over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Jayden Daniels really struggled through the air, going just 4/18 for 25 passing yards and getting picked off once. RB Eno Benjamin was the only offensive player who had a decent statistical performance, rushing 15 times for 104 yards on the ground. Overall, Arizona State gained well under 150 total yards and managed to put up only three points against a rock-solid Utes defense.

The Sun Devils had a somewhat decent outing on the other side of the ball against Utah, surrendering two touchdowns and just under 350 total yards of offense. Arizona State really struggled to slow down Utes RB Zack Moss on the ground, as he rushed for 99 yards and two scores on a game-high 25 carries.

UCLA snapped a two game losing slide last weekend, beating Stanford 34-16 on the road to improve to 2-5 on the season overall. The Bruins held at a 21-10 lead at the half and continued their strong play over the final two quarters, outscoring the Cardinal 13-6 en route to a double-digit victory. QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson played well, going 21/34 for 192 yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 66 rushing yards and a score on the ground. RB Joshua Kelley was a beast out of the backfield, rushing for 176 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Kyle Phillips led the way for the receiving corps, making ten receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns. As a whole, UCLA generated well over 450 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns against a shell-shocked Cardinal defense.

The Bruins were very solid defensively against Stanford, holding the Cardinal under 200 total yards of offense and just one touchdown. UCLA was especially strong defending against the run, as they gave up only 55 net rushing yards all game.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Arizona State -3

I think that the Sun Devils offer pretty decent value in this PAC-12 clash on Saturday night, as they have now won five out of their first seven games and have really looked quite strong on both sides of the ball. While they had a bit of an offensive lull against Utah last weekend, they should be able to rebound against a UCLA defense that has already given up 48+ points three times this season already. Arizona State has also played very well on defense through their first seven games, giving up 17 points or less in four of those outings.

The Sun Devils have also owned this matchup as of late, going 4-2 straight up in their last six meetings with UCLA. They are also a very respectable 5-2 outright over their last seven games overall. On the other side, the Bruins are a brutal 0-3 against the spread over their last three home games. They are also just 5-15 straight up in their last 20 games overall. I’ll gladly lay the three points and roll with the slight road favorite in this spot – give me Arizona Straight against the spread in what should be a highly entertaining PAC-12 battle.
