The UCLA Bruins (4-7) host the Cal Golden Bears (6-5) this weekend for a PAC-12 showdown from Pasadena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM EST on November 30th at Rose Bowl Stadium and the game will be televised on FS1.

Taking a look at the Week 14 college football odds, UCLA opened as a 2.5-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread has come down by half a point after early betting, as the Bruins are currently available at -2. The total for the game is sitting at 51 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: UCLA vs Cal

Cal has now won two out of their last three games after beating Stanford 24-20 on the road last weekend to get back above .500 on the season overall. The Golden Bears trailed 17-10 in the third quarter but pulled off a very impressive comeback over the final 15 minutes of the game, outscoring the Cardinal 14-3 down the stretch. QB Chase Garbers went 20/30 for 285 passing yards and a touchdown through the air while also adding a team-high 72 rushing yards and a score on the ground as well. Nikko Remigio torched the Cardinal secondary, exploding for 157 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. As a whole, Cal generated well over 400 total yards of offense and found the end zone three times in the victory.

The Golden Bears had a decent outing on the other side of the ball against Stanford, giving up just two touchdowns despite allowing more than 350 total yards of offense. Cal did a great job shutting down the Cardinal on the ground, holding the offense to just 61 net rushing yards.

UCLA lost their second game in a row last weekend, falling 52-35 on the road against #25 overall USC to drop to 4-7 on the season overall. The Bruins gave up 24 points in the first half alone and never fully recovered, coming up over two touchdowns short at the end of the fourth quarter. QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson went 26/44 for 367 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air while also leading the way on the ground with 64 rushing yards and a touchdown on a team-high 16 carries. Devin Asiasi and Kyle Phillips ran circles around the Trojans secondary, combining for 264 receiving yards and one touchdown on 17 catches. Overall, UCLA gained well over 500 total yards of offense and scored five touchdowns despite the loss.

The Bruins were terrible defensively against USC, surrendering almost 700 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns. UCLA had no answer for Trojans QB Kedon Slovis, as he threw for 515 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Cal +2

I think that the Golden Bears offer pretty decent value in this PAC-12 clash, as they could easily find a way to win this game outright. Not only does Cal have the better record outright, they have also fared better against the spread so far this season as well. UCLA hasn’t exactly been a powerhouse at home through the first 13 weeks of the season either, covering the number just once over their last four outings at Rose Bowl Stadium. The Golden Bears seem to have no problem playing on the road, going a rock-solid 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games away from California Memorial Stadium.

It is also important to note that Cal has had the upper hand when facing UCLA over the past couple of years, as they have covered the number in two out of their last three meetings. The Golden Bears really played well on the road the last time these rivals met, losing by just a field goal despite being a touchdown underdog before kickoff. On the other side, the Bruins have come up short in four out of their last five games at home and have just five wins in their last 16 games overall. I’m going to take the two points and roll with the road underdog on Saturday evening, as I think that Cal has a legitimate shot at winning outright. Give me the Golden Bears!
