Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Vanderbilt vs Kentucky
Kentucky has now lost two out of their last three games after falling 17-13 at home last weekend to drop to 4-5 on the season overall. The Wildcats jumped out to an early 13-0 lead in the first quarter but couldn’t get anything going offensively the rest of the game, failing to register another point en route to their fifth defeat. QB Lynn Bowden didn’t do much through the air, passing for just 25 yards. Bowden did lead the way on the ground for the offense, racking up 114 rushing yards on a team-high 26 carries. Josh Ali registered the longest reception for Kentucky, making just one catch for 12 yards. As a whole, the offense generated under 250 total yards and scored two touchdowns.
The Wildcats had a pretty decent outing on the other side of the ball against Tennessee, holding the Volunteers offense to under 300 total yards and two touchdowns. Kentucky was fantastic defending against the run, allowing only 85 net rushing yards.
Vanderbilt lost their second game in a row last weekend, getting crushed 56-0 on the road against #11 overall Florida to drop to just 2-7 on the season overall. The Commodores gave up 14 unanswered points in the second quarter and never recovered, allowing the Gators to tack on six more touchdowns over the final 30 minutes of the game. QB Deuce Wallace went just 7/18 for 60 yards through the air while Keyon Brooks and Ke’Shawn Vaughn combined for just 62 rushing yards on the ground. James Bostic led the way for the receiving corps despite making only two catches for 32 yards. Overall, Vanderbilt barely gained over 100 total yards of offense and failed to register a single point against a rock-solid Gators defense.
The Commodores were brutal defensively against Florida, getting torched for well over 500 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns. Vanderbilt had no answer for Gators QB Emory Jones on the ground, as he rushed for three touchdowns on just five carries.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Kentucky -10
I think that the Wildcats currently offer pretty decent value in this particular spot, as they should have little trouble winning this game outright despite having to play on the road here in Week 12. Kentucky has also really performed quite well against the spread so far this season, going a very respectable 6-3 ATS through their first nine games. The same certainly can’t be said about Vanderbilt, as the Commodores are a brutal 1-8 against the spread through their first nine outings overall. They have been especially poor at home, covering the number just once in their last five games at Vanderbilt Stadium.

The Wildcats have had the upper hand against the spread in this SEC East rivalry lately, going 2-1 against the spread over their last three meetings with Vanderbilt overall. Kentucky is also 8-3 against the spread over their last 11 games overall and 4-1 outright in their last five battles with the Commodores. On the other side, Vanderbilt is only 1-9 ATS in their last ten games and 1-5 against the spread over their last six meetings with an opponent from the SEC. I’m going to lay the ten points and take a shot with the road favorite on Saturday afternoon, as Kentucky should find a way to win this game with relative ease- give me the Wildcats to cover!
