The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (7-3) host the Duke Blue Devils (4-6) this weekend for an all-ACC clash from Winston-Salem. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM EST on November 23rd at BB&T Field and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.

Taking a look at the Week 13 college football odds, Wake Forest opened as a 6.5-point home favorite earlier this week. The spread hasn’t moved at all after early betting, as the Demon Deacons are currently available at -6.5. The total for the game is sitting at 50 points.

Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: Wake Forest vs Duke

Duke lost their fourth straight game last weekend, falling 49-6 at home against Syracuse to drop to 4-6 on the season overall. The Blue Devils gave up 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and never recovered, scoring just two field goals the entire game. QB Quentin Harris certainly wasn’t at his best, going just 19/36 for 157 passing yards while also getting picked off twice as well. RB Mataeo Durant led the way on the ground, rushing for 54 yards on 11 carries. Aaron Young also chipped in, hauling in five receptions for 63 yards. Overall, Duke generated over 250 total yards of offense but failed to find the end zone even once in the blowout defeat.

The Blue Devils had a brutal outing on the other side of the ball against Syracuse, getting torched for over 400 total yards of offense and six touchdowns. Duke had no answer for Orange RB Moe Neal, as he racked up 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on a game-high 17 carries.

Wake Forest lost their second consecutive game last weekend after getting crushed 52-3 on the road against #3 overall Clemson to drop to 7-3 on the season. The Demon Deacons surrendered four touchdowns in the first half alone and never got back on track, getting completely shut out over the final two quarters. QB Jamie Newman really struggled, throwing two interceptions and going just 6/14 for 41 passing yards through the air. Kendrell Flowers never really got anything going on the ground, rushing for only 27 yards on nine carries. None of the receiving corps ever made an impact either, as the entire offense generated only six catches for 41 yards. As a whole, Wake Forest barely gained 100 total yards against a rock-solid Tigers defense.

The Demon Deacons were obviously terrible defensively against Clemson, giving up almost 550 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns. Wake Forest couldn’t find a way to slow down Tigers WR Tee Higgins, as he scored three touchdowns on just four receptions.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: Wake Forest -6.5

I think that the Demon Deacons offer pretty decent value against the spread as long as it stays below a full touchdown, as Duke has really struggled on both sides of the ball so far this season. Not only does Wake Forest have the much better record straight up through their first ten games, they also currently own a sparkling 4-1 record over their last five outings at BB&T Field. While they have been on a bit of a downswing over the past several weeks, both losses came against teams currently ranked inside of the AP Top 25 list. The Blue Devils defense has also been horrendous lately, giving up 87 total points over just their last two games combined.

It is also important to note that the Demon Deacons have had the upper hand against the spread in this ACC rivalry in recent years, covering the number in two out of their last three meetings with Duke overall. Wake Forest absolutely demolished the Blue Devils when these two teams met in 2018, winning 59-7 on the road despite being an almost ten-point underdog. I’m going to lay the 6.5 points and roll with the home favorite in this particular spot, as I think that the Demon Deacons should find a way to grind out a tough cover here in Week 13 – give me Wake Forest!
