Washington State vs Arizona Vegas Betting Line & Game Preview
The Cougars improved to 7-1 on the season after shutting out the Colorado Buffaloes 28-0 at home last weekend. QB Luke Falk continued his impressive year with another three touchdown performance. Falk is averaging 310.4 passing yards per game and has already thrown 22 touchdowns. He is definitely the biggest reason why Washington State is averaging 33.6 points on 448.9 total yards per game. However, he has certainly received a ton of help from the Cougar receiving corps as Tavares Martin Jr., Renard Bell, and Isaiah Johnson-Mack have all caught multiple touchdown passes. Defensively, Washington State has looked exceptionally strong – especially against the pass. The Cougars are allowing just 153.9 yards per game through the air, which is 3rd overall in the entire country. They have also limited opponents to an average of just 18.5 points per game (21st).
Arizona moved to 5-2 on the season after a thrilling 45-44 double overtime victory over Cal last weekend. The Wildcats coughed up a big halftime lead but managed to recover when it mattered most – they stopped a two-point conversion in the second overtime with the game on the line. QB Khalil Tate was a threat both through the air and on the ground, scoring three touchdowns on the afternoon. Tate already has seven rushing touchdowns on the season and is currently averaging 156.0 yards on the ground per game. On the other side of the ball, Arizona is allowing an average of 29.3 points per game while giving up 419.6 total yards.
Free NCAAF Betting Prediction: Washington State -2.5
Despite playing on the road, I think Washington State offers a ton of value in this particular spot. The Cougars are really playing well on both sides of the ball right now. Arizona is certainly a good team in their own right, but I am a little concerned about how their relatively one-dimensional attack stacks up against such a strong defense. The Wildcats may also have a little bit of a letdown in the first couple of quarters after such a thrilling victory last week. 2.5 points isn’t a lot to give up, especially considering Washington State is a respectable 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games against teams with winning records.

The Cougars are also 5-1 ATS in their past six games overall and 4-1 ATS over their past 5 games against Pac-12 opponents. Conversely, Arizona is just 6-15 ATS over their past 21 games and 3-9 ATS over their past 12 games against the Pac-12. I think it is also important to consider that the Wildcats are only 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against teams with winning records.
I think Washington State finds a way to win this game by at least a field goal and improve to 8-1 on the season. With the exception of their loss against Cal, the Cougars have scored at least 28 points in every game. They have also looked extremely solid on defense almost all year long. Arizona certainly has the talent to keep this game competitive, but I fully expect Washington State to leave Tucson with a victory on Saturday night.
