Vegas Betting Preview & Game Odds: WKU vs Middle Tennessee
Middle Tennessee State ended a two game losing streak last weekend after beating Old Dominion 38-17 at home to improve to 4-7 on the season overall. The Blue Raiders scored four touchdowns in the first half and never looked back, outscoring the Monarchs 10-7 over the final two quarters en route to a double-digit victory. QB Asher O’Hara went 18/25 for 185 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while also leading the way on the ground with 78 rushing yards on a team-high 14 carries. Jarrin Pierce and Jimmy Marshall ran circles around the secondary, combining for 140 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 9 catches. Overall, Middle Tennessee State gained over 400 total yards and found the end zone four times on offense in the win.
The Blue Raiders had a decent outing on the other side of the ball against Old Dominion, surrendering just two touchdowns despite allowing more than 400 total yards of offense. However, Middle Tennessee State had no answer for Monarchs WR Aaron Moore, as he torched the defense for 194 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 14 receptions.
Western Kentucky won their second consecutive game last weekend, beating Southern Mississippi 28-10 on the road to improve to 7-4 on the season overall. The Hilltoppers jumped out to an early 21-7 lead and cruised to victory from there, giving up just a single field goal the entire second half. QB Ty Storey went 20/30 for 225 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air while RB Gaej Walker chipped in with 84 rushing yards on a team-high 20 carries on the ground. Jahcour Pearson led the way for the receiving corps, hauling in seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, Western Kentucky generated over 350 total yards and scored three touchdowns on offense in the win.
The Hilltoppers were fantastic defensively against Southern Mississippi, giving up under 400 total yards of offense and just one touchdown. Western Kentucky was especially strong defending against the run, allowing only 98 net rushing yards the entire game.
NCAA Football Betting Predictions & Free Pick: WKU -8
I’m leaning just slightly towards laying the points and taking a shot with the home favorite in this Conference USA clash, as I think the Hilltoppers should find a way to grind out a tough cover on Saturday afternoon. They have certainly been the far superior team against the spread through the first 13 weeks of the season, going a very impressive 8-3 ATS over their first eleven games. WKU certainly takes advantage of playing at home as well, covering the number in three out of their last four games at L.T. Smith Stadium. Middle Tennessee has also really struggled on the road this year, going a brutal 0-6 outright in their last six outings away from Johnny Floyd Stadium.

The Hilltoppers have turned it up a notch since the beginning of October, going 7-1 against the spread over their last eight games overall. Western Kentucky is also a rock-solid 7-2 straight up in their last nine meetings with a Conference USA opponent as well. I’m more than happy to post the eight points and roll with the Hilltoppers here in Week 14 – give me Western Kentucky to cover!
